i am so sad need something else in my life but i am so excited about tonight

been off work with flu for the past 10 days and just feeling human again so watched marchlands on catch up twice just to get the story in my head

happy watching Grin

We keep seeing whatshisname...the new Father in the current time...runnning in the woods don't we? That's not a coincidence...maybe he's linked or i going to find something there. And the there's all those shots of Scott looking at the water as a teen.

Maybe...Alice's dad was abusing Olive and alice caught him doing it in the woods that day? Or having an affair with Olive's mum - ditto? Whatever it is I am not happy that's it's 5 whole episodes [scowl]

Is the ending good? These sorts of things usually disappoint in the end, bcs no plot resolution can live up to the rumbling menace etc. This has been quite watchable mostly without anything much happening at all. Would be nice to think it had a strong ending.

Aargh - i'm too confused by all the people in it. Where did modern dad live when he lived in the village? Is corner shop man Scott Amy's brother?

well, i wasn't that fussed for the thing, thought it was strong on atmos but really not worthy of five parts... however regardless of details of resolutio there is one WAAAH-shityerpants moment in the last ep that justifies the effort of sticking with it, i think.

Well then I will stick with it for the shityerpants. It certainly is rather lengthy for the amount of actual stuff happening. Good for limping brains, though, easy to keep up.

Yes he is her brother. I've not seen where modern dad lived back then - only him walking along and meeting mates (inc. Scott) for a cider before going off to 'garden'.

i definately think she saw what happened. i think alices grandad was abusing olive and alice saw it. the way she hit the water (bum dow) suggests that she was thrown in rather than fell, so alice ran, he caught her, panicked and threw her into the water. lots of talk about her being a good girl etc.
