Yes I agree Eric - the programme makers would edit it for maximum contention Grin

However the midwives do seem pretty useless.

lalabaloo · 14/02/2011 21:22

Driving I thought so! Just checking, don't want to upset anyone!

MerryMarigold · 14/02/2011 21:22

Can anyone explain to me why people need gas and air to see how dilated they are. For me, that discomfort was negligible compared to even v early contractions.

juneybean · 14/02/2011 21:22

I'm not suggesting she should be allowed to scream, but she's in a ton of pain, she's allowed to make a bit of noise without people telling her to shut up.

Jennine's husband was fantastic.

Alambil · 14/02/2011 21:22

lol giraffes, I thought her reply was dripping with "I'm a LITTLE preoccupied right now!"

wannabesocialworker · 14/02/2011 21:22

I think everyone on this programme has been on their back in bed taking gas and air. You'd think there was no alternative.

I wish they could doo a similar series on homebirths.

ImFab · 14/02/2011 21:23

I was told to stop screaming or my throat would be sore. I couldn't and it was.

tomhardyismydh · 14/02/2011 21:23

oh good someone else coming in now Grin

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 14/02/2011 21:23

how old was he sorry??

thefirstMrsDeVere · 14/02/2011 21:23

I could have done with morphine for those internals and refused them for my 5th. I had an out of body experience on my 4th it hurt so fecking much!

babybear5 · 14/02/2011 21:23

It's a girl then Confused

pooka · 14/02/2011 21:23

I was told not to scream while pushing. Was very sensible advice - and followed what I'd learnt in ante-natal yoga. You cannot push effectively if you are screaming.

cfc · 14/02/2011 21:24

I remember asking hubby "he said we had a girl, do we really have a girl?!" after coming round from GA after an EMSC>

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/02/2011 21:24

Internals never hurt at all iirc. Just the bollocking contractions.

ImFab · 14/02/2011 21:24

7 minutes seemed pretty effective to me Grin.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/02/2011 21:24

I hate this programme because it just reminds me how shitty every single one of my midwives was.

Ciske · 14/02/2011 21:24

Wait wait wait... where is the second girl's partner? I've now heard 'Iman', 'Iraq', 'prison' and 'Aberdeen'.

I know, I know, I'm deaf. Blush

AnathemaDevice · 14/02/2011 21:25

This should be interesting- I'd like to see if Hypnobirthing does actually lessen the pain. Didn't for me, though I'm sure it helped me keep calm.

Normantebbit · 14/02/2011 21:25

Was he reading the bump a ladybird book or am I hallucinating?

CaveMum · 14/02/2011 21:25

Ooooo Hypnobirthing.

Very interested to see how this goes as it appeals to me [not even pregnant yet]

ImFab · 14/02/2011 21:25

He is on remand, Ciske.

cfc · 14/02/2011 21:25

There's a great series on discovery home and health called homebirth diaries.

naturalbaby · 14/02/2011 21:26

ooo i did hypnobirthing. didn't quite get fully into it though.

amberleaf · 14/02/2011 21:26

I needed gas and air for the internals, they hurt a lot!

couldnt ride out the pain as it wasnt my body doing it iyswim, it was midwives fingers!
