I love snuffly newborns. Got a 4 month old in my lap and he seems massive compared.

icantbelieveimnotbitter · 14/02/2011 22:00

beautiful baby girl

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/02/2011 22:00

Sad imfab

tomatoesontoast · 14/02/2011 22:00

it makes me want another baby

maxpower · 14/02/2011 22:01

I feel for you Imfab - I didn't get to hold DC1 because I was having a reaction to the epidural (emcs) and it was something that haunted me (and still does a bit). That was one of the reasons I was so adamant I'd go for a vbac and it was one of (if not the) most amazing moments of my life.

tomatoesontoast · 14/02/2011 22:01

god tomhardy I threw up LOADS, it was disgusting

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 22:01

Oh dear Lord , save us form the Ryvita loose wimmin!

ImFab · 14/02/2011 22:02

They grow so fast Sad.

tomhardyismydh · 14/02/2011 22:03

IMFAB thats horrible, my sis had the same with both her dcs, It must be so scary.

cfc · 14/02/2011 22:03

I threw up the whole way through both of my births.

Hubs insisted on an anti-emetic this time though and it was much better, a lot less frequent than the first time with the boy.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/02/2011 22:03

Neither died I ImFab. It was 25 minutes before DD was given to me and I still don't know why despite having my notes. When she was eventually given to me and I opened the blanket slightly to have a look at her, the mw yelled at me.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/02/2011 22:03

Neither did I Blush

ImFab · 14/02/2011 22:05

Neither died was accurate though Smile.

DuelingFanjo · 14/02/2011 22:05

I agree ree the holding baby (or not)

my baby was put onto me all wrapped up for all of 20 seconds before being wisked away. one thing I really regret is not getting skin to skin and not being able to hold the baby for over 24 hours. I try not to think about it.

icantbelieveimnotbitter · 14/02/2011 22:07

Imfab - horrible for you, was same for me with DD. Hideous, vomiting shaking labour and birth and couldn't hold her until i'd got back to the ward when i finally stopped shaking. By which time she was fully dressed and in a cot Sad. Hence the determination for DS1 to be the opposite experience.

ImFab · 14/02/2011 22:11

I had to leave dd to go to theatre to have the placenta removed. A woman asked me what I had had and I was trying to be funny and said a baby. She wasn't impressed so I said a girl and got no response.

icantbelieveimnotbitter · 14/02/2011 22:15

Charming of her [sceptical]

icantbelieveimnotbitter · 14/02/2011 22:16

or even Hmm. [crap at emoticons emoticon]

oldraver · 14/02/2011 22:19

Imfab I didnt get to hold DS2 for 15 mins. He was born 5 and a bit weeks early, his first Apgar was 9 and one at 10 mins 10 so I dont know why the paeditrician held onto him for so long. The Midwife was sorting me out for some of that time but I think even she was a little cross with her. DS was screaming on the rescusitare thing and eventually I said very pointedly "I think HE wants his Mummy". Midwife then did grab him and started skin to skin contact

ifancyashandy · 14/02/2011 22:20

People can also be remanded in custody if there's a risk they'll do a runner and bugger off before the trial.

Imps7 · 14/02/2011 22:22

Evening

Just got to my laptop after watching OBEM and looking forward to reading all the comments.

I thought all ladies and their birthing partners were brilliant this week - I took a shine to all of them. And the last midwife with the blonde hair was excellent I thought.

Bellebelle · 14/02/2011 23:05

I KNEW I hadn't watched this before for a very good reason - I want another baby!

Two is enough, two is enough, two is enough...

ImFab · 15/02/2011 13:59

Two wasn't enough for us....Grin.
