Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 14/02/2011 21:39

giraffesisonadiet · 14/02/2011 21:39

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 21:39

where is the other one's partner?

MerryMarigold · 14/02/2011 21:39

Is it transition?

ImFab · 14/02/2011 21:39

To be fair, if she told her mother not to let her have the drugs she is only doing what she asked.

Normantebbit · 14/02/2011 21:39

Yay midwife!

Why doesn't bf man the fuck up and get her the drugs

juneybean · 14/02/2011 21:39

is the young girl her partner????

babybear5 · 14/02/2011 21:39

polar bears???

NoseyNooNoo · 14/02/2011 21:39

tomhardy: this isn't a Mongan Method HypnoBirth. The mother clearly didn't attend the classes and she certainly isn't sticking to any king of script. Perhaps they used the Natal CDs.

giraffesisonadiet · 14/02/2011 21:40

LOL

naturalbaby · 14/02/2011 21:40

i had a waterbirth and there was no way i could or would get out that water - specially not near the end

msrisotto · 14/02/2011 21:40

No, her partner is in prison i think

thefirstMrsDeVere · 14/02/2011 21:40

You are supposed to have certain words that remind you to be calm. I didnt involve anyone else in my hypnobirthing because I knew i would punch them if they said 'and relax' or 'imagine your vagina opening like a lotus flower' to me.

I told myself to relax and hummmed a lot.

poolet · 14/02/2011 21:40

Ah, thanks giraffes - couldn't think what on earth she'd need a spatula for (poop? Grin)

Calm woman is fab, very serene.

naturalbaby · 14/02/2011 21:41

that other girl is doing way better without hypnobirthing or water pool!

PussinJimmyChoos · 14/02/2011 21:41

Wtf is she hoping to achieve by giving birth with only half a paracetamol???

Honestly, I know drug free labour has its benefits (I was over medicated and ended up with a emcs so I appreciate how too much interference can be a bad thing!) but this is really taking the piss

Wonder if she'll be the Mrs Smug at NCT/Baby classes oh I gave birth with no pain relief etc

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 21:41

she gonna do it Grin

DillyDaydreaming · 14/02/2011 21:41

LOVE it! As an ex midwife I just KNOW every partner tried the G&A when I left the room Grin

YES Sammy go go go

thefirstMrsDeVere · 14/02/2011 21:41

MerryMarigold · 14/02/2011 21:41

This one's not on her back!

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 21:41

so delighted to be wrong!

pooka · 14/02/2011 21:41

Oh I had gas and air with my second. I panicked big time when had VE and was told only 3cm. Hmm And asked for an epidural.

But it turned out I was actually 10cm (senior midwife checked as I was bearing down uncontrollably) with unbroken waters and the student had got it wrong. DS arrived minutes later.

Not cross with the student - but was cross with the senior midwife. I had arrived at hospital having been told no midwives for a home birth. Told wasn't dilated while uncontrollably pushing. Lost confidence and asked for an epidural. Senior midwife said "desperate for a homebirth and now you're begging for an epidural?" in very snarky way. Soon showed her!

Third birth at home. Very fast, midwife by skin of teeth. But lovelylovelylovely.

BitOfFun · 14/02/2011 21:42

In prison? Shock Poor girl. Great birth though.
