Looks and sounds like transition to me. Hope so.

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 14/02/2011 21:35

thankyou wormshuffler

Normantebbit · 14/02/2011 21:35

Mum has told her it won't hurt. Funnily enough it does.

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/02/2011 21:35

Well put widowwadman

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 21:35

ahhh is that why she is panicking?

Be brill if she pops it out.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 14/02/2011 21:35

I did sort of hypnobirthing with DC5. I was really panicky and knew I had to sort myself out. So I used the cds and learnt some techniques. I found it very helpful. Didnt help with the pain but it kept me calm and very in control. That made me feel good.

I had G&A with DCs 4 & 5 because I had homebirths. It was enough for me but if I had been in hosptial I would probably have thought 'fuck it' and gone for the whole lot!

ohmeohmy · 14/02/2011 21:35

agree you can change your mind and do what you want but sometimes all you really need is reassurance, especially if you're in transition which passes

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/02/2011 21:35

I wonder if the mother had a drug free birth having her.

babybear5 · 14/02/2011 21:35

I agree..nobody knows how they will be until they are there so if she wants pain relief..let her have it

NoseyNooNoo · 14/02/2011 21:35

HypnoBirthing doesn't dictate no pain-relief though. It empowers women to make the right choice for them at that point in time.

saffy85 · 14/02/2011 21:36

Shock I thought my mum was a hard faced mare but aleast she wouldn't deny me fricking drugs. Can't believe that mum! She changed her fucking mind! There's no shame or blame in that! Hand over the drugs!

tomhardyismydh · 14/02/2011 21:36

is it a true hypno birth though, I have never seen nor read up but her mum does not look like she is guiding her well. should she be using specific tecniques

poolet · 14/02/2011 21:36

MerryMarigold · 14/02/2011 21:37

Don't tell me to CALM DOWN? HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN IN THIS PAIN??

thefirstMrsDeVere · 14/02/2011 21:37

You behave!!!!!!!

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 14/02/2011 21:38

not a great birthing partner that mum

'just your tummy' 40,000 more positive things she could say

Megglevache · 14/02/2011 21:38

Hypnobirthing for me made me calm and really able to focus, it still hurt but it was a very different pain.

I still want to slap her mum- they're all laughing Shock

AintMissBeehiving · 14/02/2011 21:38

I'm not sure that music is really cutting it tbh.

Panzee · 14/02/2011 21:38

I like the midwife. I don't think she's keen on grandma.
