Maybe because a mw said similar to me when I was in labour with ds1. I always said afterwards, if I met her in the street, I would punch her. But then she was there when I had ds2 18 months later, and she was much nicer.

Aww, can't you all remember the feeling of not being able to go on when 7-8cm dilated? Poor child. And to have to speak in a language which is not your mother tongue. Wow.
