The male midwife (midhusband? I've never known the answer to that) seems very good - it's the first time I've seen a MW explain what can happen if you push too early, rather than just telling the lady not to push.

That said, we only see the edit so of course the others may have said it too.

Bless Amelia - I hope her BF doesn't turn up and she gets together with the male midwife. Yes, that would be a nice ending.

I reckon my MIL would be great actually. Where my SILs had their babies they aren't allowed birth partners :( My poor 19yo SIL had a failed forceps and ventouse all by herself while my poor MIL had to wait outside. My mum would be ok too but I'd rather not! I know a lentil weavery type who had a home birth with DH, mum and granny in attendance...

Have heard from a friend who works at Southampton that Nancy (receptionist) is actually lovely.

I did LOL at Amelia saying "why me" and the midwife saying "only you can answer that...but it was fun 9 months ago..." said in a really lovely way. True, too true.
