Son has ordered something suspicious by post

He’s 18. It’s disguised as choc squares and obviously it’s an illegal substance. He’s away atm. I had gut feel from recent conversations and from the shape and feel of package and opened it. I don’t usually open other people’s post of course but this is my son’s welfare, also my money and my home address. I’m trying to work out best approach to deal with this. Any advice? It’s the first time he’s done this.

What an absolute drama llama you are!

no I am not, I am speaking from long experience

typically, the house is visited and checked out, and if the gang thinks this is a promising area to set up a new branch, they simply move in, by force

This is how they operate

How do you think drugs gangs expand into new areas?

You can live around them in your house, or you can move out

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 19:47

and dont think the council will consider you to be homeless, in these circumstances......

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 19:47

its called "nesting" or "cuckkooing"

MumOf2workOptions · 17/02/2023 19:48

I'd take it straight to the police station to be honest no messing and let them deal with and ask them to say it was intercepted by Royal Mail

Could be a good lesson for him

MumOf2workOptions · 17/02/2023 19:49

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 19:22

He has given drug dealers your address

I am a teacher, we have had families have to move after such incidents

We have had teens have to go into hiding away from their families and the parents move to a different part of the country

Several cases a year of major traumas after drug dealers finding out their customers addresses,

He is supporting an industry using child slaves close to your vicinity, and had put you in direct contact with criminals, slave traders, people smugglers and organised crime, and told them where you live

I don't think your being dramatic at all I think your speaking sense it needs dealing with ASAP

toptail22 · 17/02/2023 19:56

For me it's the brass neck of having an illegal substance delivered to YOUR home despite his age. If he wants to do that and play billy big balls then he should move out.
I bet it's green, pretty easy to source as all the 'young team' sell it via Snapchat.

It could also be a class A of course which imo is more serious. I would kill my teenager if they had drugs sent to my house. Taking drugs is entirely his choice but having it delivered to the family home is not on.

MySugarBabyLove · 17/02/2023 20:01

I love how if someone thinks their dh is having an affair they should apparently check their phone and it doesn’t matter whether it’s an invasion of their privacy.

But if someone is having illegal drugs delivered to the family home opening their post is wrong.

Fuck that.

If my child had illegal drugs delivered to my house his bags would be packed and he wouldn’t even make it back through the front door.

He’s 18. He’s an adult. If he wants to make adult decisions about fucking up his life and supporting the drugs trade and everything into the bargain he wouldn’t be doing so at my expense or in my house.

You have not experienced anything of the sort Lmfao. People who sell edibles, especially over the internet are not in the business of barging into customers homes and setting up a drug den ffs. Absolutely no clue what you’re talking about.

You also don’t need to order from Amsterdsm
there are many websites in the U.K. that sell edibles, not legally but they’re out there.

Bunce1 · 17/02/2023 20:08

Cuckoo inn and taking over a house is quite rare and an extension of county lines. Usually it is young vulnerable people who are targeted.

Buying edibles over the dark web is something else altogether.

Nesting and cuckoo's are a thing but not in situations like this!!
Drug dealers may exploit vulnerable people and conduct illegal operations out of their houses. This happens to very vulnerable (usually those with learning disabilities) people who have become personally acquainted with drug dealers. Not moving into the family home of someone who ordered a few edibles online!

I don’t think you should check your partners phone or go through anyones post.

How much illegal product do you think is in a few chocolate squares?

It is probably CBD chocolate or love chocolate which is legal.

When you think you've heard everything.

Lost a customer who accelerated into a tree. He was having a flashback three weeks after a magic mushroom weekend. It's stored in the liver apparently.

Why did you quote me?

I care for children every year who have got themselves and their families into this position

It happens all the time

Nimbostratus100 · 17/02/2023 20:10

its normally younger teens, 14 or so. 18 years olds tend not to be so moronic as to give drug dealers their home adresses

3WildOnes · 17/02/2023 20:13

@Nimbostratus100 you are talking nonsense. This is not how cuckooing happens.

its not always how it happens, but I see it often enough to know this is regularly how it happens

The gang needs

  1. your home address
  2. enough evidence on your son (daughter? I have never actually known a girl do this) - for you to know that if the gang goes to prison, your son goes with them, and they will target him inside
  3. to decide that your home is in a potentially advantageous position

Hopefully, that wont apply to the OP, but it might, and this is now totally out of their control, it is up to the drug dealers themselves to decide if they want this property or not

WiddlinDiddlin · 17/02/2023 20:19

Sorry... what exactly about it leads you to think it's illegal substances?

Show us the packaging? The chocolate itself?

I've had two deliveries this week that came with little packaging and brand names most would never have heard of, both totally legit food products.

On the other hand my illegal edible order came with clear packaging that said what it was and the doseage on it.

As the kids say... pics or it didn't happen....

I think you should stop watching Top Boy.

ICanSeeYouNextWednesdayAtFour · 17/02/2023 20:23

A pic would be helpful

highfidelity · 17/02/2023 20:23

Gangs don't post drugs to people. More likely the OP's son has bought some perfectly legal CBD chocolate or similar, something that can be found online - one doesn't even need to use the dark web.

Unless OP posts an image of the contents of the package, we won't really know for certain what she's talking about.

This is absolute bollocks and completely unhelpful.

Ordering drugs off the internet is stupid but doesn’t mean dealers are going to try and move into your house.

newjobnewstartihope · 17/02/2023 20:29

@Nimbostratus100 are you alright? Have you been sharing the contents of the package? People do not start cuckooing from someone ordering some cannabis chocolate online 🙈I'm a police officer and have never heard anything so amusing

newjobnewstartihope · 17/02/2023 20:29
