My boyfriend’s got loads of siblings I nieces /nephews - I’m the opposite extreme - only grandchild !! I’m just amazed how much his 14yr old nephew towers over me - is this tall for 14 yr old boy? He seems to have show up loads since Xmas!

My 14 year old is about 5ft9 and seems to be about average compared to his friends.

LBirch02 · 12/08/2021 17:15

Ah thanks

I think my son was that height at 14 and he is now 17 and only 5ft 8 so must have stopped lol

NiceGerbil · 12/08/2021 17:15

Varies massively

DD only just 12 is 5'5 that's taller than me

DD 14 has girls over 6 foot in her class!

LBirch02 · 12/08/2021 17:16

Gosh at 5ft 1 think I stopped growing at 13!!

How tall are you? Boys grow at all sorts of rates. Mine has been a slower burner but has a friend that was that tall at aged 12. And for comparison 5ft 4 is the average for a 14 yr old and 5ft 7 for a 15 yr old

Floralnomad · 12/08/2021 17:17

I was at 5’8” by 14 and our son was at least 6’ at that age .

LBirch02 · 12/08/2021 17:18

I’m 5 ft 1

My 14 year old is about 5 foot 7 😁I am 5 foot 2 so he towers above me too. Dh is 6 foot so I expect he will get to a similar height

NinaBallerinaShoes · 12/08/2021 17:21

My 4 DC all towered over me by the time they were 13/14. I’m 5’9”. I’m now the shortest in my family.

Gherkingreen · 12/08/2021 17:21

My just 15 year old DS is just shy of 6ft, he's had a massive growth spurt over the past year. I'm 5ft 11 so it's not surprising he's tall though. Older DS, 17, is 6ft 2 and has possibly stopped growing now.

overtherainbo · 12/08/2021 17:23

I think I'm the only mother who will always stand a higher ground😂.. I'm 6ft 1. I get my height from my dad who's 6ft 4

bunnytheegghunter · 12/08/2021 17:26

My 15 year old is 6ft 1 and my 17 year old 6ft 3 so I think 5ft 7 is not tall at all. Every child is different and grows at different rates though!

The4ks · 12/08/2021 17:27

My 14 yo is 6ft with size 12 feet!

He uses it to his advantage and plays basketball haha.

He is one of the tallest of his mates though.

Shmithecat2 · 12/08/2021 17:31

Not that tall. I'm female and was 6'1 by the time I was 14.

Shmithecat2 · 12/08/2021 17:32

And I topped out at 6'3.

balzamico · 12/08/2021 17:37

I have a 6'2" ds of 13 but he is unusual!

PeskyRooks · 12/08/2021 17:39

My 13yo ds is 5ft 11. And has size 10 feet!

PatriciaHolm · 12/08/2021 17:40

Not particularly, I don't think - they are still all over the place in terms of growth at that age, a typical Year 9/10 class will have all sorts of heights! DS is 6ft 1 at 15.....

HavelockVetinari · 12/08/2021 17:42

My Dad was 5'9" at 11, but then stopped growing.

DH was 6'1" at 14, he grew another 5"

RainyDay2020 · 12/08/2021 17:42

My sons friends range from 12 to 15 years in age and height ranges from 5ft to over 6ft!!

whereiscaroline · 12/08/2021 17:46

Mines 5 foot 3 - he'd be over the moon to be 5'7"!

TheProvincialLady · 12/08/2021 18:28

It’s impossible to compare really as they are all growing at different rates. Also they tend to grow a lot at 14 so the difference between 14 and 1 week and 14 and 11 months could easily be 6 inches! If he’s an early developer the future growth could be less. My newly 15 year old is just shy of 6 feet.

Either way, it’s amazing to watch isn’t it!

TheProvincialLady · 12/08/2021 18:29

Sorry nearly, not newly 15.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 12/08/2021 18:32

My 14 year of nephew is 6ft Grin
