Smoking to vaping?

Has anyone succeeded in swapping smoking for vaping?
I can't stand how addicted to cigarettes I am, I wake every morning in panic about my health.
I just can't seem to get myself to stop! In fact the more I think about it, the more I smoke!
I was thinking trying to switch to vaping might be an idea?
Has anyone managed this? Any tips?

Just taking in how well everyone's done! Hope everyone feels very proud of themselves. I know do! Day 32 for me and I can't believe I've got this far. I also feel like I've past the point of no return god I hope so No turning back now!

It’s a month for me today, I am well happy. Glad everyone else is doing well. I still miss it but there’s no going back now.

I think it was three or four months before I stopped missing cigs. Now the smell turns my stomach.

How’s everyone doing? I am still smoke free, over 5 weeks now so pretty pleased.

I stopped smoking 4 years ago. I achieved it through lozenges and vaping.

I still vape (next thing on the list), but I cannot ever imagine smoking again.

It was a very strange process - I was definitely in ‘mourning’ to start with and it was the only thing that I thought about.

It sort of crept up on me, but after around 3 months, I knew that I would never smoke again and I still know that this is 100% true.

You are all doing so well! Brilliant achievement.

A couple of people I know are now in the early stages of vaping to cut down and finding it ok. It's very encouraging (and surprising!) to inspire people!

Foxbox I can’t stop eating, especially cakes! I have put on so much weight that sometimes I want to smoke again to be thin! Not going to do it though, my dh says he might give up smoking after our holiday, cigarettes are super cheap where we are going. I hope he does. I wonder how Luna and Tutty are getting on.

Forgot to say well done Fox, glad you are still smoke free, you were my inspiration to quit by vaping!

Hello vaper buds. I'm doing good. 1 month and 14 days according to my app. Had a dream smoke again last night and was highly disappointed in my dream self. 😂 it's quite natural for me now. OH still smoking, and it winds me up to be honest. Glad to see you both still powering through. Hope tutty is ok!

Hi guys! I'm up to 1 month and 6 days apparently. I'm as sure as I can be that this is it this time. I haven't wanted a cigarette, and am very happy vaping. I was out drinking for the first time since quitting on Saturday night (with my still smoking husband) and was absolutely fine. Have dropped down a level on the nicotine too. Feel so proud of us all. I think we're all still on the bus aren't we??

I've been lurking since the beginning of this thread and had been successfully vaping for about 3 months until tonight

My bloody innokin endurance t18 has died on me. It hadn't been holding its charge well this week and died tonight. So I changed the coil and still NADA.

I've been thinking I need to upgrade for a while but of course now I must. My favourite juices are dinner ladies and I've tried Colonel custard which I liked but it burned my coil (oooer missus) so I want something I can use my favourite flavours with.

Any product ideas for me please?

Hi bineverywhere. Sorry your vape has died! Have you managed to find a replacement? And sorry no one has replied to you over the weekend. This thread has quietened down a lot since we've managed to make the switch. I'm not very clued up on kits, but I like my Switz 2.

LoonyLuna Re that study, as a general rule, research involving cells in a dish being soaked in eliquid can be ignored. Impossible to recreate actual real life in a petri dish.
Prof John Britton of UKTAS in Nottingham had this to say "Electronic cigarettes are used almost exclusively in the UK by current or former smokers, the key question is how this adverse effect compares with that of exposure to cigarette smoke. The current study does not address that question, but given the much lower levels and range of toxins in electronic cigarette vapour relative to cigarette smoke, the answer is likely to be substantially less.
“The harsh truth is that smoking kills, and smokers who switch completely to electronic cigarettes are likely substantially to reduce the likelihood of premature death and disability.”
This was plainly a hit piece on vaping, the lead researcher makes it clear he doesn't approve of ecigs. A responsible researcher would compare and contrast vapour to tobacco smoke so relative risks could be measured. This didn't do that. Another one to add to the junk pile.

They might be terribly bad for us but I've had to take my chances. The real fags were starting to catch up with me health-wise and I'd done the "stop smoking" programmes so many times. I'm happy to live on my nerves and vape. Death will kill us all.

Ooh! I lost the thread. Well averted vaping crisis there. I saw those news stories too- interesting to hear a different perspective. It's either vaping or smoking for me so I'll take my chances and stick with the vape too!
Thanks for checking in with us HaveAWeeNap, means a lot. This is me- still going I'm awaiting delivery of a Smok stick prince- new kit! Still don't know about flavours. I haven't had tobacco flavour for a while now. Still on menthol, thinking of exploring- maybe something with a lime flavour.
