This is a nice natural mascara

Nice Eyeliner here I have it in Permaplum and Industry and I really like them as a change from black - I have green eyes too.

MrsBoogie, I suspect I have similar skin shade to you..... Chanel VL does suit me (can't remember which shade) but brings me out in spots if I wear it too often. I have found that Boots no 7 foundations are actually the best for me for everyday - have been using the Intelligent Colour in Light for ages, is a bit between a tinted moisturiser and proper foundation, so might me a good one to try if you haven't already and am currently using Lift & Luminate and v. happy with that too...

Lulumaam · 16/05/2010 10:27

MayorNaze · 16/05/2010 11:11

i am going to come and rave about avon glimmersticks eyeliner as i do it all the tme and no-one believes me.

have fab grey one with hint of sparkle in this months order

re eyebrows in fit of pique in the interests of self improvement i narrowed the beggars v significantly by my nose - OMG i look younger and thinner. both of which is always good

went out on fri though and tried to do "going out" makeup - not good. not good at all

aquavit · 16/05/2010 11:17

this thread has made me hanker after some more mac stuff (since it is currently 10% off in debenhams)

so please tell me what you like from there (esp eyeshadows and blushers - hate the smell of their lip stuff although if they bring the tendertone tinted balms out again this summer GET THEM they are ruddy lovely)

I am currently liking naked lunch, patina and smut eyeshadows and my new gazette grey one

For those of you asking about eyeliner I cannot rave enough about Urban Decay 24-7 pencils - smooth and glidy and you can smudge nicely if you want, then when they are set they stay put forever

utterly brilliant

and fab colours too

ShadeofViolet · 16/05/2010 11:17

Can you wear the Nars Orgasm if you are very pale? It looks a bit orange.

aquavit · 16/05/2010 11:18

what went wrong Mayor?

aquavit · 16/05/2010 11:19

Shade I am not all that pale and I can't wear Orgasm, it is very orange and very glittery on me

ShadeofViolet · 16/05/2010 11:22

Thought so. I am better suited to rosy colours.

NomDePlume · 16/05/2010 11:24

yy, I agree with the Urban Decay 24-7 pencil recommendation aquavit. Brilliant

NomDePlume · 16/05/2010 11:28

Blusher, I use a bourjois one in a browny rose colour. In fact I think it's called Rose cuivre

NomDePlume · 16/05/2010 11:29

sorry it's called brun cuivre

NomDePlume · 16/05/2010 11:33

also love the the Urban Decay Ink For Eyes. It's a creamy block eyeliner you apply with a brush, I have it in dark green (medium skinned, brown eyed, brunette)

Lulumaam · 16/05/2010 11:38

going to MAC tomorrow.. what is my definitive list of must haves...

brimfull · 16/05/2010 11:42

my favourite eyeshadow for everyday tht suits blue eyes is
liz arden in autumn leaves
makes blue eyes pop -arf

msboogie · 16/05/2010 11:49

yes I am very pale and the NARS orgasm is not orange at all - quite a natural pink

aquavit · 16/05/2010 11:53

Lulumaam, make the counter people work for you and try stuff on you (you may need to be firm about what you like so they don't go too mad)

their eyeshadows are gorgeous, I would start with a shimmery neutral e.g. shroom or naked lunch, also in my must-haves is carbon, it is a matte black that looks quite scary but you can use it blended underneath/over other shadows to deepen their colour, and it makes a good liner. Then they have lots of v fun colours so play around (purples good with your colouring I would guess) - think about whether you like them matte, shimmery, or glittery because they have a big range of textures too.

the thing is that they are very pigmented so you get proper colour on your lid and it lasts

I also like their blushes, really good range of colours and textures, if you are pale try a sheertone, again they tend to be very pigmented so you need to be quite careful applying them

personally am not all that fond of their bases or lip products (they dry my skin/lips out) but there is an amazing range of colours if you get on with them

Lulumaam · 16/05/2010 11:55

i will try. although i am fairly forthright , i find the MAC ladies scary.. wht looks good on a fashionista 19 year old with perfect skin will not look good on a 30 somethjing blemished birkie wearing bag lady.

Lulumaam · 16/05/2010 11:56

thank you for the detailed adivce
