Noddy do you think the Superdrys are wider than Converse - any good for the hobbity-hooved?

noddyholder · 12/04/2010 19:39

I think they are about the same. What are hobbity hooves/

pointydog · 12/04/2010 19:54

I've just plucked up enough courage to buy a few pairs of skinny jeans so am now thinking converse would be perfect shoes?
anyone know of websites/shops that sell them for the best price?

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 12/04/2010 20:04

Er, mine are kinda like this, only wider

hobbity hooves

I tried mine on with skinny jeans today- not good as I am size 9 with very thin legs.
Looked more like the bass player in Fine Young Cannibals

Basically I take my style cues from what the mothers where I live (East Dulwich) wear ... and do the opposite. So no Converse for me. Besides, they make your feet manky and offer no support and aren't worth 3 quid, let alone 30-40.

GetOrfMoiLand · 13/04/2010 17:27

Superdry come across all japanese cool however the brand was first sold on a market stall in 80s Cheltenham. Radical.

I don't care - they are nce and far more comfortable than converse.

Adidas gazelles are the young chav boy shoe of choice round here.

AnyFucker · 13/04/2010 17:33

I find Converse very comfortable

I think I have skinny feet though

bobbiewickham · 13/04/2010 18:37

I have a navy pair.
A pink pair.
A pink and grey tweed pair.
A black pair.
A white laceless pair.
A grey pair.
A red pair.
A turquoise pair.
A purple pair.
A silver pair.

I have a problem, don't I?

I love them, though.

I had to respond to your post. It really made me smile as my DH always calls my feet hobbity too and I call them hooves

I think we might be foot twins!

And yes, you can wear Converse. I have worn them for years and despite them looking narrow and me finding it hard to buy shoes in normal shoe shops due to the width and shape(lessness) of my feet they are surprising comfortable.

I think they are magic shoes.

nappyzoneloveslindor · 13/04/2010 19:22

I thought they looke dquite wide - was hoping to get some this month myself but not the womanly ones the more chunkier ones. Im liking maroon or bright green. Where does them cheap?

TheFirstLady · 13/04/2010 19:31

I am 46 and I've been wearing converse for 20 years. It is a pain that they are such a mum cliche right now, but I'm not giving them up on that account - in fact DH has just bought me these for my birthday.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 13/04/2010 21:52

Suiledonne - hey we should get us some nice gold gladiator sandals and stand next to each other down the disco

I might have to try some Converse on again, I've tried them on in the past and they felt too narrow, but I suppose that was a while back. It's always worth persevering in pursuit of some bloody thing i can walk in shoe heaven.
