what do you think of this jumpsuit combo from Theory? I like it, but the strapless might be annoying?

bunnymother · 06/03/2010 12:50

Bunjies - Sportmax skirt is definitely the one. AMcQ one is not as flattering or classic.

Verity - The Sartorialist looks wonderful knees up. Those tights and shoes leave me cold.

I am likely to buy white jeans this summer, and could only hope I look like Liz Hurley. Sort of. I have white trousers and have to wash them every single wear. With DD not even sure I could get through a full day in white, but am going to give it a red hot go!

bunnymother · 06/03/2010 12:57

Hana - the scarf is acrylic of some sort, and is quite fine (ie slightly sheer), but also finely woven (do not like a coarse weave). Hmm, doesn't read well, does it, but it is nice.

Roman - now that's my kind of jumpsuit. Fleecy - that's the sort I would get! Strapless might be annoying, but I don't mind strapless for an evening.

The leather pencil (w slight A) skirt I tried on at a charity shop (High St Marylebone if anyone near by and wants it...) was Theory and fitted beautifully. But since when are charity shops demanding £80?!?

bunjies · 06/03/2010 13:16

Nice dress OWW but I could never wear it with my 32Es!!

That jumpsuit is sexalicious Romana. You thinking of a different interview strategy ?

By the way, what's everyone wearing today? I'm in "got to do chores" clothes, so it's M&S Indigo bootlegs (can't do skinnys with my figure), Primark teal l/s top with chocolate (could've said dark brown but chocolate sounds much nicer) s/s M&S tunic with gathers at the neck on top.

GeorginaWorsley · 06/03/2010 13:24

Am wearing dark denim trousers(Boden)

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/womens+Skirts/J3AQ3/Tigerlilly+Skirt.htm

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 06/03/2010 13:29

Roman how about this, I've posted it before but I loooovvveee it so, and I don't have anywhere to wear it.

I like my ILs so much I have invited them out for a walk this afternoon.

I want a happy purse this as a happy purse]]

notyummy · 06/03/2010 13:46

Am just back from a 4th birthday party at soft play place.

Wore Top Shop indigo skinny flares with purple ruffle shoe boots and purple and blue dress over the top of jeans.

Glad to see some of the links were helpful roma.

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2010 13:56

Good luck for this week Roman. It's quite exciting going for interviews, I enjoy the interview part, striding in, talking about myself (endlessly) etc...

I love that RM dress too and went for a long walk and thought about it the entire time (new thing to add to my current clothing obsessions).

I am wearing striped APC jumper, wool skirt, Ralph Lauren cape thingo, Wolford tights and Vivienne Westwood soft beige suede boots, oh and cashmere beret and scarf and donned my big round purple-ish Miu Miu sunglasses. Sunny but still very cold!

LetThemEatCake · 06/03/2010 14:03

Pssst... Checking in from upstairs where I have retired to bf in peace.

Have read all new posts but not clicked links... Can't wait to see all the power dressing and pencil skirts later. Me, am in straight leg indigo jeans, cacharel top and ash high tops as planned. I look a bit Zooey Deschanel so yay. Scales said good numbers this morning too... Ok Libra, I know it varies hour to hour but let me have it for my armour ok!? Also dodged a bullet today as horrid sil cancelled last minute. Nice sil noticed nails, admired colour and said I looked slim and 'trendy' (gag)

Enough about that and thank you to all you gorgeous ladies for your good thoughts.

Yes to a clutch, I have a vibrant purple eekskin one by beksondergaard (sp?) and a semi circle red straw one from a 2nd hand stall. Nowt fancy but I like 'em.

Who was asking about rats? I bought mine in Sydney about 18mths ago and mostly wore with oversize tees and patent ankle boots or 'fierce' glads. Wore a few times by day with hi tops and big tees, but don't think I would do so in London; my lifestyle here is different from home and I don't think I'd feel right by day. But let's see how I feel when the last of this baby weight is off.

Was it matildasmum asking about my jeans? I'll be keeping them despite sizing issue, I think- always good to have some fat jeans. One of these days I'll have a period again (have only had about 4 or 5 in last 5 years!! ) however, I am going to put a sass and bide (of rats fame) denim skirt on eBay: dark denim, knee length, straight/ pencil, size 12) as it's too big around the waist.

Sounds like all hell breaking loose downstairs...

Um, what else. Red espadrilles not here yet. Really fancy a RL trip to Zara and topshop (I will find a larger pair of 10s!!!!). mm your £15 dress sounds gorgeous. oww you sound gorgeous last night, I'm heading down for a prosecco after this feed. Love that you thought of us at bedtime :-) esher hope single mom Saturday going ok, chat tonight? Hello former lurkers and newbies. bunny thanks for making me smile as always.

Back later. Big mwah.

Where is hells? you/ dd ok lady?

LetThemEatCake · 06/03/2010 14:06

Good lord Marsha, where, roughly, do you live???

Too fab for words. Hope you struck a p53 pose

Ladies, your thoughts on these? I love them but fear my feet would fall out of them

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2010 14:14

Hahaha really I do look quite dishevelled which levels it somewhat. I think it sounds more put together than it looks!

Hope you've hit any wandering hands away, imagining my inlaws doing that makes me very tense indeed. You're doing very well!

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2010 14:15

oh and yes to page53 pose, against a old fence

MarshaBrady · 06/03/2010 14:16

I am dressed badly today! But I will be honest. Black floral culottes that look like a skirt and barely cover my arse black tights, black vest, Ash high tops. Stylish, non?

Am tired from drinks with friends last night (tho driving so no hangover at least!) and am not going anywhere today (apart from the gym) so slobbing out in old stuff.

Lusting after some of these work-wear links. Keep 'em coming!

Good luck to those of you whose in-laws have landed...

blossoming · 06/03/2010 16:57

Glad you like the Evelyn Ponteroma dress Romanarama. I didn't know your budget when I mentioned it (blush).

Omg, there are some seriously skinny minnies round here. Let's not go there girls.

Another omg, I've had a fringe cut in. Channeling Anne Hathaway in devil wears prada. In my dreams at least.

Had a great day. Will report back on shopping later.

traceybath · 06/03/2010 17:12

Afternoon.

Golly - lovely links for Roman - have just been listening to woman's hour and they had Carly Simon on singing the theme to 'working girl' seemed apt . In a glam working way not necessarily in a 'I imagine Roman looks like Melanie Griffiths in the 80's' way . Lordy - did that make any sense at all.

Roman - good luck with interviews and I'm sure you will do well and look utterly fab. With your height and slenderness am pretty sure most things look great .

LTEC - you must be super slender now - are you now stopping and just maintaining?

Well, after early start have done housework, been waxed at beauticians, made soup and cakes (will type up recipe this evening) and been to local national trust place for walk and coffee.

Blossoming - can't wait to hear about your purchases.

bunjies · 06/03/2010 17:12

Blossoming - glad to hear you had a nice day. Looking forward to the update! Funny you should mention having a new fringe as I've been toying with the idea of having one too. Did you see my earlier post about where you had it done? I need to find somewhere that won't run screaming from my fine hair.

On the subject of pencil skirts should /shouldn't they have a slit at the back? They've always reminded me of my school uniform in the 80s which I used to wear with turquoise stilettos and matching eye shadow , what was I thinking?!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 06/03/2010 17:19

Marsha - very jealous of your Mui Mui glasses, was lusting after several pairs in Liberty yesterday.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 06/03/2010 17:22

Blossom - just looked at your profile pic - reckon the fringe looks fab on you!

traceybath · 06/03/2010 17:26

Marsha - You always sound so incredibly chic.

Today I am wearing:

  • Current Elliott jeans
  • Brora cream thermal top
  • Pink stripey scarf - Johnnie B
  • Brown timberland duvet coat as its freezing here
  • Tom Ford sunglasses when the sun made its too brief appearance

Not terribly glam I'm afraid.

blossoming · 06/03/2010 17:27

Bunjies, I see Elliot Bute ar Daniel Hersheson on Conduit St. I've also had George before and Simon Izzard in the Harvey Nicks salon.
I prefer the Conduit st salon, less clubby.
Not posting till I get home now in case battery runs out and I need my phone for those country roads!
