Right, I need some non-foundation wearers to join me in a little experiment

So having realised everyone wears foundation everyday I think it is time to give it a proper go....

I thought I would wear it everyday for a week and see if anyone magically says 'you are looking well TMAM'. If they don't notice, I shan't continue

Anyone else want to join me? I shall be using Clinique Barely There spf 15

Other make-up consists for me of mascara and a touch of lippy. Though if the foundation masks my usual healthy glow i suppose I would add a tiny bit of blush.

God yes Riven, it's only for those already with a pot of something that has been lurking at the bottom of a drawer for some years months.

I have rarely ever worn foundation during the day but years ago when I was in my early twenties I started a new job and wanting to boost my confidence went in for a few days wearing foundation. After a few days the novelty wore off (and the lure of getting up later was too much) so I stopped.

My team leader asked me that morning was I feeling ok as I didn't look well

Still didn't inspire me to use foundation every day though.

travellingwilbury · 08/11/2009 18:51

Go on then I will join you in your cunning plan

AvengingGerbil · 08/11/2009 18:52

I've got pots such as you describe - I'll try to keep you company, TMAM.

Suspect no-one will notice though!

Hassled · 08/11/2009 18:53

I've done the reverse test - i.e. stopped wearing foundation or tinted moisturiser for a while. I looked like Death. People noticed.

colditz · 08/11/2009 18:53

Ummm

Ok then.

I'll be using a L'Oreal one.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/11/2009 18:54

Let's start tomorrow TW. Suile is that a yes?

OP posts:
suiledonne · 08/11/2009 18:55

Yes. Forgot that part.

I'm a SAHM though and often don't bother going farther than the garden for days so not sure there is anyone to notice.

I have a Clinique one I can't remember the type. It's a year old though.

travellingwilbury · 08/11/2009 18:57

Ok then tomorrow it is , the only thing is that when I miss for a day people are going to tell me I look poorly sick aren't they ?

Am I going to turn into a polished lady type ?

travellingwilbury · 08/11/2009 18:58

Mine is clinique too Suile , I am hoping it is going to perform miracles .

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/11/2009 18:58

That had crossed my mind Suile, perhaps an incentive to get out a bit more?

Right that's five of us so far.

fishie · 08/11/2009 18:59

i'd like to try but don't think i've got anything. i could put a bit of face powder on, would that do?

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/11/2009 19:00

That'll do fishie, we are not fussy.

I've never worn foundation. But then I don't wear makeup either. People will comment if you look significantly different, but I don't think you shoud assume that it meant you looked bad before, just different.

AnnieBeansMum · 08/11/2009 19:01

I'll give it a go. I've got Avon-stop-looking-so-damn-old mineral foundation.

largeginandtonic · 08/11/2009 19:01

It wont if it is old foundation.

You need a sparkly new one

Go on TMAM, shall i pop one in the post to you?

badietbuddy · 08/11/2009 19:01

Do all of you have fabulous complexions? I would scare small children if I went out without foundation. I do think it's an issue of confidence and habit though tbh, I was in hospital a few years ago and put slap n every day which is just wierd if you think about it

suiledonne · 08/11/2009 19:02

I was just thinking the same thing TW. I usually slop around in horrible old things as I don't want my good clothes (if that's what you call 2 pairs of 2 year old jeans) to get ruined dealing with my 1 year old and 3 year old dds all day.

It is so bad now that when I put my jeans on dd1 immediately knows I am going somewhere.

I hope my DH notices but I wouldn't bet on it.

AnnieBeansMum · 08/11/2009 19:02

Fabulous complexion? Bah! If you think rosy areas mixed with pale and dry is fabulous - then yes I do.

nooka · 08/11/2009 19:04

My feeling is that putting stuff all over your face every day is probably very bad for your skin, so a bit chicken and egg really. I never had spots as a teenager, which is probably why I didn't start with the make up (also very lazy) but I am steadily growing a fine set of wrinkles. As I very rarely look at my face I don't care that much though.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/11/2009 19:04

nooka I'm just curious to see if anyone notices.

Thanks Ginwoman any secrets donations gratefully received.

Suile if I could get away with wearing pjs at alll times then I would

I can do looking marvellous and ready for a night out (deluded) but it doesn't happen very often

MarshaBrady · 08/11/2009 19:06

Yes I was just thinking I'd like to try using something light during the day.

My normal Lancôme one may be too much for day time.

I am going to buy a new tinted moisturiser type one and join you.
