for which I am very grateful btw - the Monsoon ones were out of stock mostly and the Reiss ones too officey and too Aintree ladies day I am now looking at this...what do you think?

More expensive than the other options but for a registry office with 2 witnesses and then onto Venice? Am not sure if I am too intimidated to actually go and try it on as well - does anyone know the main VW shop on Conduit St?

have recently been looking for a low key wedding dress too... I tried on the Vivienne westwood one you linked, the neckline was fab, but back was a bit odd.

they have that VW dress in Selfridges and Liberty. The sales woman in Selfridges was really helpful when I tried it on and found me loads of other stuff too...

ohhh the ghost one is SO lovely - please get it, I would but have absolutely no reason to! You have the perfect one

norkmaiden · 25/05/2009 19:55

or this?

giantkatestacks · 25/05/2009 20:21

sorry to have been away - there was dinner and then bedtimes and its taken me ages to go through all the links - god some of them are gorgeous - thank you all so much.

hongkongzoe - thanks for the selfirdges tip - what sort of thing have you gone for in the end?

tracey - I dont know why - it was lovely but with heels on it just felt a bit can can girl iyswim

I like the parachute dress but wonder what I would wear with it - and am in the suburbs and am walking to the registry office and may look a bit strange(not that that has ever stopped me before though) - if I was going to chelsea it would be great...

Heated you are amazing - how do you do it?

Agree the Ghost one is lovely but again with the walking and the lack of prettiness on my side...

I love the whistles one but hey have only got a 14 and a 16 [implodes]

Sorry giantkatestacks, didn't clock that the Whistles one wasn't in your size. I think I've got an idea of what you're after now though so I'll carry on and report back...

giantkatestacks · 25/05/2009 20:37

giantkatestacks · 25/05/2009 20:37

lol thats a bit frightening...

OP posts:
namechangecosfeelingsad · 25/05/2009 20:41

Ha ha! Right, at least we've got your tastes sorted - now tell us exactly what it is that you would prefer - the pencil dress shape but more floaty for a wedding? Or a more wedding-like fabric? This is classy and bargainous, but is it too formal?

(By the way, I think that you can and should wear anything you love on your wedding day - especially if you're wanting to travel in it too)

namechangecosfeelingsad · 25/05/2009 20:43

Feck, did the wrong link, meant this

giantkatestacks · 25/05/2009 20:46

No its the shape I like but I suppose I think its a bit officey for a wedding - but then again you'll feel an eejit checking in at gatwick in satin...the Reiss one I tried on was great here - it looked sort of sexy secretary but everyone else on here hated it for a wedding so then I started to worry that I was getting the whole thing wrong.
