actually this thing of floral beauty is what i want to wear this summer, but who can tell me, will it disguise or emphasise a generous* bust?

thanks. i can't decide.

*norktastic

hoxtonchick · 26/02/2009 18:55

i think it won't do your norks any favours frenchie. and what is with the differently coloured frill? really like the overall pattern though.

superfrenchie1 · 26/02/2009 18:59

okay. maybe you're right. maybe i would buy it and admire it but never actually wear it like i normally do with dresses! hmm.

really need to try it on i think

KristinaM · 26/02/2009 19:19

superfrenchie - you are deluding yourself

that frill will draw attention to your assets in a BIG way and teh entire dress will fall from your norks making you look 6 months pg

fitted is the only way to go with big norks i fear

KristinaM · 26/02/2009 19:21

you might get away with it if your generous bust is attached to 5'10'' size 8 body though

and you are 25 and gorgeous with long red hair

LOL at the suggestion that DWP who bought 30 pairs of shoes last year feels guilty about new dresses

hotCheeseBURNS · 26/02/2009 19:24

The first one will make you look a lot fatter than you are.

The second is just ugly. Unflattering horizontal stripes and I don't like red.

The third one is nice Sorry.

Springflower · 26/02/2009 19:26

I like the look of the purple chloe one but can anyone help me with the sizes - I'm usually a size 8 - or sometimes a 10 top - do you think a 38 would be too big? It doesnt seem to come in a smaller size.
Thanks

Penthesileia · 26/02/2009 20:33

The purple Chloe dress runs large. I've got the 38 and it's v. roomy on me (but that's the style, so it doesn't look weird, IYSWIM). My measurements (since sizes are pretty meaningless these days) are 35-26-37, and I'm 5'8". HTH.

DWP - v. of your green dress. Sounds lurveelleee.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2009 23:06

Oooh superfrenchie I love that one on the 4th link. Wondering if the belt is detachable though, nothing worse than an attached belt.

OP posts:
Prosecco · 26/02/2009 23:09

Love the first, like the second, am least keen on the third.

Springflower · 26/02/2009 23:22

Thanks Penthesileia - think it might be a bit big for me although using a ipod lead and a childrens ruler might not be the most accurate way of measuring me!

superfrenchie1 · 27/02/2009 14:03

Hi DWP - I think the belt is integral, unfortunately! Agree that there is nothing worse than an attached belt! They always sit too high up so I end up tugging the whole dress down.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 02/03/2009 09:58

Has anyones Chloe dress arrived? I got mine on Saturday and am wearing it today with tan mary janes. No tights, spring is here!

I love it, it's going to be a firm staple this summer.

It's lovely, isn't it? Really comfortable. And flattering too. I like the pockets.

Purple is my fave colour - own lots of dresses in purple.

I think it'll look nice with a long-sleeve grey tee underneath as well for cooler days.

It is spring-like today, isn't it!

I still needed a wool coat, so it's not quite spring

The front garden across the road from us was covered in daffodils and purple flowers, made me smile when I saw it, but the feckers took a mower to the lawn yesterday so they are all gone! eejits.

Oh oh, no need for a new thread I'll ask here.

I bought this on Saturday, I think I love it. But the tags are still attached as I'm not quite sure, what do you think?

You know, I quite like it. It has a 60s vibe going on. But it would depend on your colouring. What shoes would you wear with it?

I think people are going to come back saying they don't like it because Easyjet have ruined orange for everyone.

But if you give it a second, it's quite cool.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 02/03/2009 10:44

I'm pale at the minute but have oliveish skin tone, chocolate brown hair and blue eyes.

I'm thinking it would look good with a messy chignon and cream or dark brown round toed courts, or ballet pumps?

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 02/03/2009 10:45

lol at easyjet

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 02/03/2009 10:49

Yes, I can see that working. Does it sit at the right height for your waist (IYSWIM)? Do you have a slim & longish torso?

Penthesileia · 02/03/2009 10:49

Big chunky bracelet would look nice too.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 02/03/2009 10:52

I'm a size 10 pear shaped with a tiny waist but massive bum. Sounds attractive hey

OP posts:
notyummy · 02/03/2009 10:55

Oooh, a brave choice TDWP. I think I like it (I am a size 10-12, tall and pear shaped...so sound quite similar!) However I am considerably older than you, so don't think I would get away with it.

What is your colouring? I think it would like nice with certain hair colour/skin tone, but not others.

notyummy · 02/03/2009 10:57

I have got a long lunch booked from work on Wednesday to go shopping (got a load of Jigsaw vouchers for Christmas).

Am now excited after seeing all these frocks and am off to check out the Jigsaw site!!
