oh that damn purple dress.

hoxtonchick · 25/02/2009 15:01

i am wearing my purple chloe dress today. i still love it. though the pockets are slightly irritating...

fishie · 25/02/2009 15:04

tell me more, it is in my basket. what is fit like? i am 16 top, 14 bottom.

i long for pockets.

fishie · 25/02/2009 15:11

fuck i've bought it.

hoxtonchick · 25/02/2009 15:33

hahaha fishie, you'll heart it. i am 16 too, see by chloe things run v. big i think, other things i have by them are a 14, as is the purple one. it is lose. great for layering.

what does anyone think of this whilst we are looking at dresses? i fear it may be a bit toddlery.... sonia rykiel

tattycoram · 25/02/2009 15:41

Nice, but looks rather P.OP to me

hoxtonchick · 25/02/2009 15:42

i bought dd one very similar last year tatty!

woodenspoon2 · 25/02/2009 15:49

Oi, hc, stop buying dresses!

tattycoram · 25/02/2009 15:51

I know, I've seen it, it's very nice

Have you seen the Royal Tenenbaums in which
Ben Stiller dresses himself and his sons in identical outfits

Anyway, I'm not here, I'm working doncha know

hoxtonchick · 25/02/2009 16:09

you 2 spoil all my fun . am not purchasing merely browsing. for now.

dd & i already have enough matching stuff . what with my penchant for stripy tights & her demand for a grey coat like mine...

francagoestohollywood · 25/02/2009 16:32

Anna . I haven't bought it. yet. It is still cheaper than a yacht , now that you make me think about it.

TDWP, it'll look fab with the bronze shoes. Result!!!!!!!!

BonsoirAnna · 25/02/2009 17:33

Yes, cheaper than a yacht and, if you haven't got your own yacht yet, you would at least be able to accessorise someone else's yacht in a very becoming fashion .

KristinaM · 25/02/2009 17:40

hoxton chick - if you have no norks you will look like a toddelr

if you do have them you will look matronly

sorry

DWP _ have you got the grey debenhams dress yet?

hoxtonchick · 25/02/2009 18:25

you are probably right kristina. i am on the norktackular side....

francagoestohollywood · 25/02/2009 19:00

the closest I can get to a yacht

WilyWombat · 25/02/2009 19:56

Well I really liked the first one but think it would be better for someone thin - I find wearing baggy stuff if you are 14+ just makes you look even more humungous (sp). I hope you have thin legs though as the hemline isnt a particularly flattering one?

No 2 I wasnt massively keen on - I think it would only work if you had a slightly quirky style, were very thin and had no chest whatsoever.

No 3 is my favourite, again only if thin and not too norky. I know the dress itself could be tagged boring but it would look great with the right shoes & accessories.

Better to try them than keep thinking "ohh I really liked that" - if you try it and you hate it then you won't think about it again.

KristinaM · 26/02/2009 16:49

hoxtonchick - i share you pain as i am 32G and ...ahem...over 40. so in danger of looking matronly if i'm not careful

2pt4kids · 26/02/2009 16:56

Oh I love the green first one. Its sold out now!!

I am v v tempted by the purple Chloe one mentioned.
I need a dress to wear to a wedding reception evening bash, plus a girls night out - will this do??
What shoes will I wear with it????

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2009 17:19

The green dress arrived this morning, it's stunning really lovely drapey material.

Buy the purple chloe one!

OP posts:
2pt4kids · 26/02/2009 17:34

OMG I've just ordered it!
A size 38 is a size 10 isnt it???

What shoes???

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2009 17:37

I hope so, I've just ordered it too.

I think there are lots of shoes that could go with it. Goldy bronze could be good.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2009 17:38

I feel really naughty now (it's your fault for bumping this thread)

hoxtonchick · 26/02/2009 17:48

ha, the country will be full of women in purple chloe dresses! it's quite casual 2.4, made of thick jersey cotton, much more day time wear imo. but that means you'll get more wear out of it .

superfrenchie1 · 26/02/2009 18:29

oh just saw this, the purple see by chloe one is gorgeous, i want it!

also these ones - bit cheaper for poor people like me:

how about this one?
or this one maybe?
wish i was thin enough to wear this one
mmmm love this one

please make me stop looking at dresses

fishie · 26/02/2009 18:32

teehee. net a porter must wonder why there is a run on the purple beauty. mine is on the way!
