So call me a fuddy duddy

I want this bag

LynetteScavo · 14/01/2009 22:11

Oh yes - I do like Boden Brad!

notyummy · 14/01/2009 22:12

Top Shop

JIgsaw

Dotty P's

I also like KM for the odd well cut flattering dress.

Lauriefairycake · 14/01/2009 22:12

perfectly nice bag Lynette

Mooseheart · 14/01/2009 22:13

Which colour Lynette? I like the aqua and the denim. Not too sure about the yellow and the sludge grey though...

MrsSeanBean · 14/01/2009 22:14

Now I'm sorry but I don't get on with Dotty P at all. Anything I ever bought from there in my mis-spent youth became useless after being washed.

Dottoressa · 14/01/2009 22:14

I like Boden because I'm happy to be middle-aged and frumpy. I go for the things that don't have dots/stripes/applique flowers, which probably makes me even more frumpy. But the skirts fit me, and it is a bit like wearing a school uniform - you don't have to think at all about what to wear as Boden skirts and plain cotton tops will always do the job.

Then again, I've never been very adventurous with clothes.

I did make a resolution never to buy from Boden after we started with school fees, but my resolve has slipped recently. I got a lovely blue summer gypsy dress for DD through the post today...

LynetteScavo · 14/01/2009 22:15

I won't buy it though, as it's too much money - and if DH ever found out I'd spent that much on a bag he would be , and maybe even

notyummy · 14/01/2009 22:15

What I meant to say was....Boden is a bit dull frankly. I have a couple of things from there, but most things do seem kind of old to me. Kids clothes more than I am prepared to pay (want to save the money for me to spend in Jigsaw ) Dd gets her clothes from charity shops...or if I am feeling flash the Monsoon sale (but only if the item is under a tenner.) She'll grow out of it in 3 months...what the point of spending loads of money..

MrsSeanBean · 14/01/2009 22:15

I still want the Boden grainy leather bag from a couple of seasons ago. Am hoping to pick one up on ebay for a song as Lynette and co buy the latest offerings

notyummy · 14/01/2009 22:16

Dotty ps better than it used to be. Not top quality, but not real tat either....and the sizing is very generous, so I can kid myself I am a 10 all over!

LynetteScavo · 14/01/2009 22:17

Mooseheart - I like the grey best.

How much do you reckon it will be in the sale? I think I might have to wait till the summer sale for this one, Johnny.

notyummy · 14/01/2009 22:18

See , its the catalogue's blurb that gets me. How can a bag be 'remarkable' FFS???

BodyBagBastard · 14/01/2009 22:21

yes in the summer i do wear dresses like that in the day and why not.

OP posts:
Mooseheart · 14/01/2009 22:23

Bloody hell - can't believe how much that bag is Lynette! There was a time not so long ago when Boden's leather bags were about £80. I would imagine it'll go down to about that in the sale. Like I said earlier though - I think Johnnie's trying it on a bit with his prices this season...

Dottoressa · 14/01/2009 22:24

I'm trying to look at the bag, but my mac won't let me access the Boden site. I think DH must have tampered with it!!

paolosgirl · 14/01/2009 22:26

Well, I guess your definition of sexy, girly and feminine differs from mine, Body. Or perhaps it doesn't

Heated · 14/01/2009 22:26

Hate the Lolita & mini-mugger look for children, esp the Next range for boys over the age of 5. I have an aversion to skulls, slogans, sludge or lurid pink... I want dcs to look like children and Boden, with its bold colours, fits the bill. I wish Adams had surveyed MN - we'd have put them right.

It it just me though, re Boden women's trousers, the word "slacks" comes to mind!

BodyBagBastard · 14/01/2009 22:31

pg what?

OP posts:
paolosgirl · 14/01/2009 22:32

My 11 year old is going through a skull-on-everything phase, which is quite upsetting but expected. Anything which has glitter or the word 'babe' or 'cheeky' on it is avoided for DD, and anything with the words 'little monkey' or somesuch does not appear on 1yr old DS2.

At nearly 40, slacks and elasticated waistbands seem rather attractive

what do you mean

OP posts:
Fimbo · 14/01/2009 23:36

Put it this way I'd rather wear Boden than New Look....

Fimbo · 14/01/2009 23:38

PG my DD is going through the skull thing too. She lives in H & M - pah.

BodyBagBastard · 14/01/2009 23:44

what age do they get into the skull look ?

OP posts:
Fimbo · 14/01/2009 23:46

Well my dd is 10.5. She is going down the Emo route unfortunately too.
