I certainly used to when I was at work.

I still tend to wear them a fair bit all year round, even in the summer now as I'm not mad on t-shirts.

HuwEdwards · 29/09/2008 15:19

I wear them, but for work only because generally about half way through the day they look distincly un-ironed. That's the bugger with shirts. Oh and I am always fiddling with my cleavage to make sure the shirt isn't too low or god forbid, gaping.

With knitwear you don't all this.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 29/09/2008 15:20

I don't wear them much as my 32F bust (thank you, Bravissimo!) tends to result in unattractive gaping around the nork area.
Or if big enough for the norkage there are acres of surplus fabric around the waist.
And despite Bravissimo coming up trumps in determining my correct bra size, their tops are frumpy. Even for me, and god knows I am no style icon.

Szyslak · 29/09/2008 15:24

Shirts can be hard to waer, as oten too cold and need a jumper or a cardi or too hot and want short sleeves something looser.

Rarely is it ideal shirt weather.

Shame they can lok really good.

Ok for work as jacket gives you flexibility with the hot/cold issue.

Tutter · 29/09/2008 15:26

not flattering for apples

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 29/09/2008 15:31

I like em, but you get that annoying creasing around the waist with cotton ones. Which can make you look a bit like a human concertina.

I am very much a fan of silk or chiffon shirts under round necked tunic dresses. Or round necked sleeveless jumpers.

But they have to be uber stylish and fab colours or you look like a schoolgirl.

brimfull · 29/09/2008 15:32

me me me

in a cas manner with jeans etc only though as work in Informal Environment, sometimes with white vest under and unbuttoned to show it as I easily look prissy and librariany if too buttoned up (new specs should help and I will be consulting MN on them).
Usu avoid tanktops for this reason but they look nice on many.

OP posts:
Mercy · 29/09/2008 16:03

Yes it probably does depend on your shape. I'm like an ironing board so I don't have to worry about cleavage etc.

Shirts look good with tank-tops or scoop neck jumpers I think and can look good under various styles of jackets.

I sometimes wear a thermal vest (!) under mine when it's cold

NotCod · 29/09/2008 16:06

yes i tired on the kew stretch tank in there a while ago
veyr nice.
didnt buy though

I love shirts and wear them with jumpers, tank tops or cardies. Also with long sleeved t shirt under if cold. Have just bought this shirt and it is very nice.

NotCod · 29/09/2008 16:26

EffiePerine · 29/09/2008 16:27

Get properly cut ones if large of nork

Pinks are excellent but pricey - Lewins OK but can gape depending on style
