I have hunted everywhere for the black one but have never seen it. They had it in pale blue too but pale colours look horrid on me. I really really want it in black but with long or 3 quarter length sleeves - it is so soft and pretty.

NotCod · 29/09/2008 19:11

yes the neckline is good
wore wiht straight leg dark rinse jeans and some blak peep toe platforms just like this but were £20 in benetton sale!

Love those peeptoes, except I wouldn't be able to walk more than half an inch in them. The outfit sounds lovely; really simple and elegant but still young and cool (or whatever one should say instead of "cool" nowadays).

NotCod · 29/09/2008 20:02

by the end of the night iw as lying acorss a sofa groaning abotu how full i was

You killed a Style thread! See, all our illusions have been shattered at the image of you being too full and shoeless by the end of the evening.

I had to come back to the shirt thread to say that after I posted about cuffs, I watched Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen on So Who Do You Think You Are and realized that I AM HIM.

So, no. I don't wear shirts, ever. Not ones with collars and big cuffs. Not ever, ever, ever.

Tutter · 30/09/2008 07:20

lol 100x

so you too have (yawn) Salt In Your Veins

not the best in the series, was it?

ahundredtimes · 30/09/2008 09:48

Oh my wasn't it boring? DH shouting at the television 'everyone thinks the sea is romantic you stupid git' while I sat there turning my expansive cuffs up.

Benjy · 01/10/2008 07:48

Love the White Stuff shirt. What trousers other than jeans or cords would ou wear it with?

HaventSleptForAYear · 01/10/2008 10:11

I re-converted to shirts this summer (or would that be blouses?) with the short puffy-sleeved ones.

I think they give me a bit of shape.

Am now looking for the winter equivalent- have been considering the shirt plus tank top.

I think it would be a good teacher look and solve my "I want to look smart but a suit is over-the-top and impractical" dilemma.

Also, our childminder is now doing our ironing so I can buy as many as I want

Haven't slept - yes, a tanktop over a shirt is a very easy teacher look: it's smart but more comfortable and less stuffy than a suit - and tank tops help to cover norkage, for those of us who find that shirts that fit us across the back may gape at the front. Also, I look awful in white but covered with a dark tanktop I can just about get away with it.

HaventSleptForAYear · 01/10/2008 17:16

No norkage problems here (well lack of ) but am still conscious of gaping when bending over so was hoping tank-top would fix that.

Any tips for shops ? Will be on a shopping mission in UK in a few weeks.
