Hello everyone, old and new.

This is about feeling better about yourself and looking and feeling better etc. But mainly we chat and laugh quite a lot, which has all got to help towards happiness etc.

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times

  • No or little booze. Wine or Champagne or whatever at the weekend is allowed if you want it

  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can

  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day

  • Apply body cream as often as possible

  • Use hand cream

  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos

  • Eat healthily

  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.

Moonshine, my period finished last week so no, am on my VERY happy and shiny week supposedly. Although actually, all outside stuff that has wound me up today, am not pre menstrually cross, just understandably irritated at how tedious life can be!

Mornin' - quick check in:

Food goodish, although I ended up with a very painful stomach last night for some reason. Oh and I had cake and coffee with my youngest yesterday, eek. Water, tick. Walking, to and from school and skipped the gym because I was worried about my knee. Bed early, ack, no.

After completely stressing myself out about when and how to apply to schools, I received home a note saying that we'll all have individual meetings with the form teacher to discuss what we're supposed to do (the parents in my son's class). She's been through this countless times - has been getting Year 6 ready for secondary school for years, so I feel much better. I signed up for the very first meeting .

Anniemac, I am still overweight according to BMI. And I have a very small frame, so should weigh less than the recs, sigh.

SMBK - I am the same. Have a 90 pound weakling's upper body (did you guys have those comic book ads when you were litte?) - it's embarrassing how little weight I can use.

Moonshine - what anti-rage tablets?

batters - poor you and poor dd.

WWW - sorry about your bad day!

Thanks batters

Be impressed people, I drove children to school with my trainers in the car, parked, and walked the 30 minutes home. So this afternoon I will walk 30 minutes to school to get them then drive them home.

It was lovely, cold but sunny and very peaceful.

batters, we're looking at independent schools so have a bit of time to calmly prepare for interviews, exams and applications

WWW - the walk sounds lovely.

Hello Verde are you old in MN years or old in real years? Does one MN year equal seven normal ones?

Well it's one o'clock and I appear to be working my way through the fridge. Some sort of hormonal gorging I think.

Started off well with a banana before gym but since then

Some tuna and mayonaise
A slice of nice bread and butter
The remainder of some cauliflower cheese with more bread and butter
Some cubes of Feta
Handful of sultanas
Two slices of chocolate cake.

A milky coffee.

Having curry for tea.......

Ooooooh salivate at the wine. And LOL at the paper bag.

Just quickly as it's bedtime. Gym again, salad again, patented zero point soup again etc etc etc. Exfoliated but still look like a lizard digesting a wildebeest. Tried on the floaty sundress. It didn't float .

Am supposed to be going to a kindergarten parents night at a pub tomorrow but am not going to go because a) it involves food and booze and I will snap and devour everything in sight and b) our class rep (or form captain as I called her, immediately blotting my copybook for the next 12 years) took the p*ss out of me (repeatedly) for getting the attendance form back the morning after it was issued thus insinuating I am a) desperate for a life and b) a complete alchie. So I'm not going and will dismiss it nonchalantly should she mention my absence by saying I was somewhere else considerably more fabulous instead.

Hope the 11+ woes are calming down for everybody. Glad your DD got 9 hours batters, a non-sleeper is very hard work.

Night all.

And you www?

Right.

I know I've jumped in on these threads more than once, and then buggered off with my tail between my wobbly thighs but... this is it.

Am doing my slightly-amended version of Neris & India (want to lose no more than a stone) but there is a Waitrose LDC in my kitchen (unopened) and it calls to me, calls to me, calls to meeeee.

I bought it this am because a friend came round for coffee, bt she is dieting too, so we didn't eat it [admirable restraint]. Shall I take it round to my mum's and give it to her? Or shall I just scoff it now and start again tomorrow?

Have been good with the eating and water so far. Less good with the exercise...

Send it to me Snaf - I'm having a cake day!

I'm young(ish) in MN years Shame it's not reflected in RL.

WideWebWitch · 10/09/2008 14:27

Snaf, donate it to your mum. You'll easily lose a stone on India and Neris.

It has lemon curd and cream in the middle Oh godddd, I knew it was a bad idea even to buy it. Saggar, if I could send it to you I would

Plates of Shame so far today:

  • cheese and blueberries with peppermint tea and x2 glasses hot water/lemon

  • two cups coffee (tiny bit of sugar )

  • salad of tuna, artichokes, anchovy, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, olive oil/lemon

  • more bleeding peppermint tea, more water

am making tacos for ds tonight - I reckon if I have the meat and salad without the actual taco-y bit, I should be ok...maybe?

No booze since last Thurs! Oh, and I have done a few sit-ups

I must investigate this "India and Neris" (says old-bufterishly). Am perceiving a danger on this thread - talk of food is causing constant thinking about food. Will now look again at that thread about the man who wanted his willy washed to destroy appetite...

ureb - hope things went well today and you're feeling better informed.

Have spoken to ds2's witness liasion guy this afternoon - case is going to Crown Court.

I want the cake. Please. And smbk - chocolate cake is my downfall. I am craving some now. Luckily I'm quite picky or I'd be at the bakery down the street.

My registration number is 384 but I have lurked more in the past few years (well, worked and lurked, I should say) than posted. VS - do you know whatever happened to Croppy and jbr? Those are the two that I wonder about from time to time. And I have need of upper arm miracles surgery help.

I am not doing brilliantly today. Had normal yoghurt, muesli and fruit for breakfast then omelet for lunch (made by my husband, so high fat and protein which is not the diet I'm doing but it was goooood). I am starving now for some reason.

Thanks for the bag and wine, www!
