Do you think that this dress would look nice on me?

I am tall, well 5,10', I am curvy size 16 (ie 38E) and I have shoulder length blond wavy hair.
I am going to a super-cool wedding and I have a very limited budget. So would I look like Bet Lynch in that dress?

[proud]

Thanks maidamess, I don't think I have ever pleased you with my spots before

S1ur · 24/07/2008 23:27

bugger that's a shame Carm.

ExterminAitch · 24/07/2008 23:27

i'd go for the red, of the two, esp for a wedding. i do like slur's dress v much also, FANTASTIC colour.

S1ur · 24/07/2008 23:29

It is isn't it Aitch? Can't justify it for me mind.

maidamess · 24/07/2008 23:30

I have never let justifications stop me from buying a fab dress. I got a silver grey beaded beauty from Debenhams online, its gorgeous. Just need a party to take it to now!

S1ur · 24/07/2008 23:34

Well, yeees. But I still have that lovely grey one I considered for the wedding that I still haven't had chance to wear.

See I have a backlog.

HollyandNoah · 24/07/2008 23:42

I like it, i love the length, shape and the neckline. nice! Will suit your shape i think xx

Carmenere · 26/07/2008 15:39

Ok I tried it on and it was quite nice BUT the fabric was yuechy.

I tried this except in red and it looked really, really good except the 16 was a tiny bit big and they didn't have it in a 14 i might have to get it in black as it was very flattering, but I really diddn't want to wear black, I wear it all the time.

I also tried this which was quite nice too, but a bit daytimey iywsim.

I am a bit dis-heartened tbh.

i like both, the red would look nice with mahoosive pearls and bracelet i think. and maybe even a breakfast at tiffs-style hat.

Carmenere · 26/07/2008 15:44

I might end up getting it but it is quite officey, But perhaps with a black belt, black shoes, and perhaps a hat it might be ok.

How will it look at 3am though?

they look very nice dresses

Carmenere · 26/07/2008 16:05

Yes that is exactly how I would like to look cept blonde

I did the smart thing of wearing my spanx and high heels to go shopping so I could tell what the dresses would look like. It really works as you are under no illusions iyswim.

oh my LORD what a figure that woman has!

Carmenere · 26/07/2008 16:18

I would like to look like this but I don't think that that type of corseting has been made since the 50's

If I can't find the 14 in the red version of the black dress, I'm thinking I might buy it in the 16 and get it altered. It was the one that made me feel best, it was the most Gina iyswim
