I love brown and it's my best base colour, so yay.

Blue is second choice. Black looks horrible on me.

Went into Mint Velvet, which usually has a splash of colour, and the entire shop was brown, beige and plum. 😩

I used to love brown the first or second time around but now I’ve turned grey I look awful in it! And there is so much olive too which I also look awful in. And I look terrible in burgundy.

Brown is a really good colour for me so I'm loving the abundance in the shops, but I've had to be careful to not overdo it!

I saw one if those 'rush to M&S' 'look what's new and fabulous' type reels earlier. Brown, beige, the drabbest olive green known to man, more brown, a different shade of brown and some cream.... I won't be running to M&S (except maybe for some fizzy percy pigs) as I can't cope with that colour palette! It all looks like poo or at best a 1970s brownies uniform. I was a child in the 70s and don't remember this much brown back then! My Mum and I are in loads of bright colours in photos! (I'm sat here in a bright pink t-shirt.)

You mean the last year of brown winter, brown spring, brown summer and brown autumn are too much?!

Surely not, when there’s the simultaneous wonders of khaki and cream to liven it up 😂

Yeah its been around a while. Quite surprised its still everywhere. I got a "cinnamon" jacket last winter. At least I can wear it again freely this year too.

RaraRachael · Yesterday 22:30

Brown was definitely big last year because I can remember moaning about it then.

We've got a nice local independent boutique where I normally get a few things but it's wall to wall poopy chocolate brown, plum and olive green 😪

I love brown. It looks good on me as do other natural colours.

I love brown and it really suits me. There are so many different shades both warm and cool that there's one to suit everyone.

Saying everyone who wears brown looks like "a giant turd" is as ridiculous as it is untrue. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean that it looks terrible on everyone.

Yes, I wonder if those people who think of poo when they see brown clothes feel the same way when they see chocolate? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone not wanting to eat chocolate because it's the same colour as a turd.

@Mary46Ive seen quite enterprising colours with brown. Try accents in navy, turquoise, red, camel and oatmeal. You can soften brown by using paler oatmeal very easily. Or do a brown shirt and trouser combo with a pale camel coat over it. Add a scarf with some contrast colour in it. I quite like mint green or pale blue and camel. I like brown!

I am so old that I can remember the brown 90s phase. It will leave soon, I remember wearing variations of drab brown for months.

Yes, I had quite a lot of brown in the 90s. I'm not sure if suited me then and I'm pretty sure it won't suit me now.

The only good thing about the current brown trend is that it's not black!

No, I don't like it. Dull and drab. I like a bit of colour! I'm not following the trend this time!

I have a deep hatred of brown shoes on men. Shit coloured shoes is never good and I’m not convinced brown shoes go with blue trousers no matter what anyone says. A deep conker-fresh-out-of-its-shell shiny brown handmade Oxford brogue I could fall for but otherwise absolutely not. I’ve not really thought about brown shoes on women before but now that I have? Absolutely not. I was appalled by the offerings in Next last week. I’ve never seen such dreary colours. There was not a single item I would have chosen and I used to rack up a huge bill on my Next Directory Account in the 2008-15 years. Remember when Fat Face was full of bright jewel coloured hoodies? Everything is brown or grey these days.
Slippers are mainly shades of bloody brown too. Beige, camel, teddy bear, ugh. Life can be dull enough without our clothes being the same. Bring back bright jewel colours, pretty pastels. Keep the classic black, white, and navy and bring in some cherry red. Good range of purples would be nice. Cream can fuck off too. Most fashion in terms of style and colours look best on the tanned, olive, black or brown skinned; and tall and willowy women with either blonde or dark hair. A short, fair, English rose with strawberry blonde hair is not rocking anything I’ve seen that the shops have to offer.
Technically with my colouring I should be able to wear browns and my school uniform did look great, but no thank you. I have never worn grey. It is the colour of the uninspired.
