I don't know what to wear to my wedding.

Getting remarried. Going to be a very small (just us and teen kids) registry office wedding.

I bought this months ago but have lost a little weight since and I don't think its fits right and just don't think I want to wear it now.

I think its because it's white/Ivory.

I'm in my early 40s. 9st. 5ft5.

I just think maybe its a bit too boring/traditional. Maybe just too wedding-y.

I don't know. I'm just not feeling it at all now but have no idea what I might like?!

I don't know what to wear to my wedding.

I think it's perfect . With nice shoes and accessories it will be lovely . If it doesn't fit right can you get it altered ? And if you still don't like it what do you think about white suits a la Bianca Jagger that are popular now .

MiddleAgedDread · Today 13:01

I agree, it's a lovely dress and perfect the occasion with your accessories and hair/make up done.
Would you prefer something more or less bridal?

Venusunbroken · Today 13:03

Yes it’s nice, but I think a little dated

i like this. Would work well with heels etc and can be worn again

That's a gorgeous dress.
Really lovely.
I think it is classy and understated with beautiful buttons.

Gorgeous dress, I have this in another colour, the material has a really lovely feel and is very flattering on. Looks great in photos as it has a nice shine.

also doesn’t matter if it’s a registry office or a beach. You wear what you want and whatever colour.

MarieBeau · Today 13:23

I have tattoos that are visable and I just don't think it looks right.

Plus I did the whole wedding dress thing the first time round so I think I might want to just do something completely different.

Could you dye the dress? Might you like it if it was pink?!

It’s your day, wear what you want! The white dress is lovely but if you are not feeling the love, get something else! That Disturbia dress is great, I’ve seen it on their website. Flowers in your hair, autumnal bouquet, or whatever suits your style.

Venusunbroken · Today 13:52

That couldn’t be more different, but it’s your wedding, wear what you are comfortable in and feels good.

Spooll · Today 13:56

Is that the Whistles one? They have it in lots of jewel colours I think?

I know what you mean. I have recently been considering the prospect of being a middleaged bride and I don't think I could wear white or ivory.

MarieBeau · Today 14:06

I know its very different but my focus isn't on it being a 'wedding dress' now but something I can get married in that will make me feel happy and good. And that I can take nice photos in.

Like I said, we already did the wedding dress/church thing and we just want to get remarried, not do that thing again.

The brown dress would also work with an autumn bouquet - very different but looks warm - buy it quick if you haven't done so already though as it is sold out in many sizes.
Good luck 🍀

I appreciate people saying they like the original dress but I don't, at all. I feel quite old in it.

Ok so it’s not because it’s white/ivory, which is what you wondered earlier. You think it’s too boring. I agree. It’s very ordinary.

Amperoblue · Today 14:26

Wear something amazing, whatever that looks like to you.
I wore a tweed waistcoat (just a great bra underneath) as it was my husbands favourite and what I wore on our first date. My favourite jeans and a pair of bride and groom, Irregular Choice shoes as they were a thing back then

Well yes and the colour.

I love the Disturbia dress and it would look amazing with autumnal colours. I have been looking at the very same dress as I am a wedding guest in November and thought the dress would be perfect for that and any Christmassy things.

Nofeckingway · Today 14:42

So far I love all your choices . So it's just a case of whatever you like best . I agree the Dusturbia would look fab with autumnal bouquet .

Paradoes · Today 14:42

Don't wear the white dress if you feel iffy now. The pink is beautiful

hahabahbag · Today 14:58

I like the disturbia dress. I have almost identical but minus the embroidery and it looks great on

TheWorldIsAHandkerchief · Today 15:31

I'm getting remarried next year and everything I tried on in white looked awful.

I've bought a bright red dress and just hope it still fits next summer. I love the colour, and feel happy in it. It's got a vaguely bridal shape to it but is probably meant as a wedding guest dress.

I love that pink velvet one, OP. I think you should wear whatever makes you feel good.

PS5Gamer · Today 16:52

@MarieBeau Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Personally, I don’t like the first dress at all. The Disturbia dress is lovely, and would look amazing with autumnal bridal accessories.
