Does anyone know when the Harrods calendars are available to buy in store? I’m specifically after the fragrance calendar 🙏

They don’t give a definite date but it is usually the first Monday in September I think

I was thinking the same so I could sell the ones I don’t want . But no selfridges near me ! I would need to book a coach to London to give them a try 🤣 . There are a few tiktokers who are saying it’s 250 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean until we really know we don’t know . But it’s still great value but it’s such a dent if it’s actually 399

If you have a Hbeauty, Harvey Nicks or John Lewis nearby you might be able to try some of them, just not the fragrance du bois as that's a Selfridge's exclusive. If it's not going on sale until 1st Oct, you've got a bit of time.

TreesinthePark · 18/08/2026 21:17

Oh wow, £399! I was prepared for £300-£350. Its still good value but at what point do I start on my wishlist?
I have some amazing perfumes from these advents but very few bottles of niche/expensive perfume that I have selected myself. Actually, the only one that comes to mind is when I bought Vilhelm Moon Carnival after a beauty drop sample.

Something for me to think about...

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 18/08/2026 21:27

£399 👀 suddenly the John Lewis FAC is looking more appealing 😂

HardyJadeTurtle · 18/08/2026 21:35

feels like chinesse whispers… Anybody Else got this info?

Addictedtobeauty · 18/08/2026 21:46

Re: Selfridges FAC. I think £399 sounds reasonable but will only be worth it if you want to keep the contents. Resale is not straightforward at the higher end of the market. People make silly offers and expect to get perfumes for a fraction of the retail price. No guarantees you’d make your money back plus the risk of scammers is high. Fingers crossed this puts off the resellers so those who actually want it can get it. I still think it will sell out quickly.
I’m hoping to go on a scent hunt to work out if it’s for me. I suspect it will appeal from the profiles so far but it’s definitely not a blind buy.

I think people who buy it intending to keep some fragrances for themselves and sell some are absolutely fine. It means for those whom the full priced of the calendar is out of reach, it is a little more affordable. Not every reseller is buying loads, or a scammer.

LightandBreezy · 18/08/2026 21:55

@IlovePond it's always been in the t&c's previously that the BAC doesn't stack with GWP's so that might be why I think.

I think she means that there seems to be more buyers scamming now. After recently being scammed, it does put me off selling any perfumes on so if it is that price, I think I'd want to like all the expensive ones. I'd hate someone to scam me out of one of the bigger bottles with a higher value 😭

Addictedtobeauty · 18/08/2026 22:00

Sorry @IDontHateRainbows for any confusion. Absolutely @OvaHere understood my intention. The reseller is not the scammer andI gave no problem with people trying to offset their costs to reduce the price of the things they want to keep. It’s the buyers reporting non existent issues, claiming fakes etc that I’m concerned about.

I love this cream, it’s brilliant for dry skin, the night cream is also fantastic.

Yeah, I imagine that it’s ok for dry skin, but I have normal skin and it just sits on the surface of my skin like a horrid greasy film.

I like lightweight creams that absorb easily, but tend to find that luxury calendars lean towards thicker, heavier creams.

Beautyfox · 18/08/2026 22:27

Liz Earle advents have 25% off on lookfantastic with Mary’s code. BDLF I’m actually quite tempted by this. I picked up the cardamom hot cloth cleanser in the JL sale last year and I love it so I’m interested to try other things. Do these usually discount further?

Thelifeofawife · 18/08/2026 22:45

@owlpassport Funnily enough I bought one of these off Vinted last week! I didn’t realise it was so small (despite it clearly saying micro bag) and was laughing my head off when it arrived. It’s still a decent little bag but I wanted it for a few bits of make up for my handbag, in reality it would only fit lipstick/lipbalms/minis such as mascara, so not fit for what I wanted it for. I’ll either keep for my AirPods, charger, etc whilst travelling, or gift to DSD for Christmas

@ShineDespiteEverything My favourite products from last years advents which I’ve already repurchased were La Mer cream, Tatcha indigo overnight repair, Moncho Moreno leave in conditioner, SDJ delicia shower oil, fragrances were FDB serene and Fugazzi vanilla haze (my DS is convinced they smell the same), and Versace noir. Fragrances for DS were FDB Lucius, Initio oud for greatness & Initio side effect.
My other likes but not yet RP were Valmont elixir, AB face oil, MZ Skin eye cream, Medik8 retinal, Then I met you cleansing balm.

I loved the Dermalogica biolumin serum from JL 2024, and Medik8 B5 intense from SNK 2024, and have RP many times.

I’m probably forgetting loads!

What I have realised from listing these is that the calendars are really good for me, I’ve loved and RP loads of things that I wouldn’t have otherwise tried

Benny12 · 18/08/2026 23:01

just catching up on the threads …£399 for Selfridges FAC …..is that official ? couldn’t find that price on selfridges website or our good friend mary’s site but maybe i missed it ….at that price it’s £175 more than harrods …which takes the gloss off it somewhat but its still insane value …. (also makes me question if I want it that badly ) 🤔….

SheilaFentiman · 18/08/2026 23:08

Ha, instagram just served me jordana ticia using the SNK micro bag to hook her lip balm
charms onto and then loop the lot to her giant tote 😀

Sorry @JoRaRaRa , referenced the wrong person. I’m so used to seeing Ova in blue - I just realised it was you that understood my meaning.

@LightandBreezy I just got excited when it stayed in my basket after I removed other stuff. I knew it was a glitch, but got hopeful 😹

I sell a lot and I'd say scammy buyers are minimal. I can't think of the last time I had one. I sell >100 items a month. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I am an ebay business seller so have to do free returns so I get the occasional person who changes their mind and maybe that's why they don't scam, they can send it back anyway? Very rarely do i have problems .

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/08/2026 07:08

Beautyfox · 18/08/2026 21:48

That's a faur round up, and I am definitely still glad I bought it. It really does tick a lot of boxes for me and I'm now very excited that it's arriving in a couple of weeks.

Interesting that she feels that a Molton Brown £13 hand-wash is a disappointing / cop out edition. I can think of many worse DoD. I also had to smile that she feels the taget audience of NY Age defying cream and Benefit juice gel blush are miles apart. 40 / 50 / 60 year olds are allowed to enjoy fun 'younger' products too (but I sort of get what she means)

Housewife2010 · 19/08/2026 07:42

Yes, I'm in my 50's and I'd wear both. Benefit has been around for decades - it was a cult brand when I was in my late 20's and buying their Pinch my Cheeks lip & cheek stain.

Exactly.

I think you can usually tell when fashion and beauty articles are written by younger people. They make assumptions about women 40 plus that are very outdated.

Housewife2010 · 19/08/2026 09:42

The Space NK AC is growing on me. I wish there was a full size moisturiser in it - there's just a Creme de la Mer mini - so it's probably the 7 ml.
I would prefer an AC to include a good range of all the standard product categories. A £275 forty one item AC should really have a full size moisturiser.

Yes agree, the lux ones dont seem to be well thought out this year. Im not fussed about any of them which I probably a good thing for my bank account! I looked at Harrods again last night and there are 3 eye creams/eye serums. Why? And 5 hair products, im just not bothered about hair products at all really. I looked at the Holland and Barrett unboxing and though its probably one of the cheapest I would use everything in there, just 1 dod. Think ill get that as a Jadvent. I think it will be Glossybox and JL FAC for me this year.
