What outfits have you been wearing most this summer?

It hasn’t been a typical summer in terms of weather so I have been trying to dress for comfort in the heat.

I have been in white pinstripe wide leg trousers and a black vest or black loose top (M&S.) I bought a pair of rust coloured balloon trousers (Next) and they have had a lot of wear too. For smarter occasions I have worn a pair of burgundy wide leg trousers (Fatface) and a burgundy short sleeved top (Boden.) Another outfit has been a patterned skirt (Mango) and a navy top (White Stuff.) It’s shorts in the garden mainly!

I have a photo of me on a beach in West Wales one August about ten years ago and I am in a coat and wellies and freezing so dressing for five heatwaves is novel!

What have you been wearing this summer?

Hoping to pick up a few other colours of the Matalan one if they come back into stock in my size. I’ve also been wearing oversized linen shirts with jeans from M&S on the slightly cooler days.

Wide leg culottes and vest tops or plain t shirts, birkenstocks.

Mostly flowy maxi dresses, cotton, with or without sleeves. Very occasionally shorts and a loose cotton or linen shirt. Rotating 2 old pairs of Birkenstocks and flipflops. Stripe and Stare knickers indoors, chub rub shorts if going out. Soft, unpadded bra, more of a crop top really.

Cheap unbranded short sleeve polka dot maxi dress, next polka dot leggings/:trousers.

High waist loose cut denim shorts from H&M and various vest tops.

Loose but tapered cotton trousers from New Look and similar from Zara.

Cotton maxi skirt from Aspiga with various T shirts, and cotton maxi dresses also mostly Aspiga.

I’ve also dug out an ancient cotton beach dress that I nearly threw out as it’s too thick for beach wear but it’s perfect as an alternative to a dressing gown for warm days.

This dress, but in bright red. I LOVE it. Plus tan sandals and a tan bag. (I already have one, but just bought this one because I saw it and could not resist bag. )
The dress is cotton, breezy, but still looks lovely.

Dresses and skirts, mostly home made. It’s been far too warm for trousers imo. I’ve also bitten the bullet and exposed my upper arms, which I wouldn’t normally do. No small children have run screaming from me, so that’s a win.

Loose midi dresses and birkenstocks. Have been wearing hair clipped up all summer as my neck gets too sweaty but with big earrings to balance!

Wide leg linen culottes, linen or cotton tops, various dresses, mostly cotton, some viscose. Am very glad I retired last year as my (long)!commute and my office were not air conditioned, and it was bloody miserable (central London office). Very hard to dress for, too.

I have so many sleeveless midi cotton linen dresses, so I've been wearing those mainly, whether in or going out. They're all some version of either large, small or micro check pattern, in greens, pinks, reds, mustard, blues, pale grey, dark gray, a couple in black. Very easy to wear.

Midi dresses, wide leg trousers, plain t shirts and tops. I haven’t worn shorts because I’ve had a problem with my leg and no one wants to see that.

When I was working cotton smock dresses and flats.

Summer holidays - mostly shorts and oversized t shirts! And crocs!!!!

When I’ve been going out to meet friends I’ve worn cotton skirts and sleeveless cotton blouses and sandals.

DS and I have also been to the beach with the paddleboard numerous times a week and I wear running shorts from matalan (the cycle short with shorts over style) a crop top style bikini top and I have surf t shirts from decathlon.

Exactly how i've been dressing and the john lewis one is lovely.I wish it wasn't sold out in my size.

Lots of summer dresses! Long and floaty or short and flippy mainly. I've enjoyed being able to wear 'off the shoulder' dresses more often, but I am ready for cooler weather now!

I've mainly had my hair tied up in the hot weather - which is slightly unusual as I usually wear it long or in a ponytail.

Lots of strappy sandals.

Capri shorts or loose cotton trousers and a teashirt. Id like shorts but my legs arent up to it. Its so hot thats really all I can manage to wear in this heat.

White Stuff cotton t shirts or vests with FatFace linen shorts have featured really heavily.

I've also been rotating four summer dresses. The Uniqlo airism dress, two sleeveless maxi dresses from Monsoon and a linen A line dress from Roman.

Shoes have either been sliders or the iQushion flip flops from FitFlop.

I haven't worn jeans or a jacket in what feels like months at this stage!

A variety of me and em midi dresses , fit and flare, sleeveless, very cool and airy, white linen wide leg trousers from Reiss. A couple of sleeveless linen dresses from reformation, and a pair of tan shorts or white shorts, and. a variety of vests and shell tops.

colours are cream, beige, tan, burnt orange, navy, olive green, in the main.

can’t remember the last time I wore denims, a jumper, a jacket, or even my dressing gown.

I’ve been rotating between 2 long sleeveless cotton dresses - one striped one from Toast at full price, off set by one from Seasalt that someone gave me - they’d bought it preloved and it didn’t fit.

Also, some Lucy&Yak knee length cullottes.

Like others I’ve lived in long floaty dresses, usually short sleeved. On the rare cooler days I’ve worn boot cut leggings, black vest top and kimono open top.
