What outfits have you been wearing most this summer?

It hasn’t been a typical summer in terms of weather so I have been trying to dress for comfort in the heat.

I have been in white pinstripe wide leg trousers and a black vest or black loose top (M&S.) I bought a pair of rust coloured balloon trousers (Next) and they have had a lot of wear too. For smarter occasions I have worn a pair of burgundy wide leg trousers (Fatface) and a burgundy short sleeved top (Boden.) Another outfit has been a patterned skirt (Mango) and a navy top (White Stuff.) It’s shorts in the garden mainly!

I have a photo of me on a beach in West Wales one August about ten years ago and I am in a coat and wellies and freezing so dressing for five heatwaves is novel!

What have you been wearing this summer?

When at home, shorts with bikini top or sports bra (cropped top kind) and maybe a vest over. For work (air con’d) wide leg trousers - favourites have been from New Look and Tu) with short t-shirt or shell top. Lots of sleeveless midi dresses for going out or denim boy shorts and swing tops.

Button through empire line maxi dresses, mainly from Nobodys Child or Finery.
Cream linen wide leg trousers and brown floaty top had them from years ago as lost weight this year and hadnt worn them in about 10 years.

Most worn this summer are:
Agolde long denim shorts
White linen maxi skirt from Rouri (and their linen hydrangea top too actually)
Cos brown waistcoat
Hemp shirts from WNU (white and brown)
A waistcoat shirt from Celosia
Ballet pumps and sandals from Alohas

Ah yes my monsoon kaftan. It covers everything but makes you feel like you are naked its so light. Its not see through enough to see anything through.
I also have a pair of matching balloon trousers that are loose and lovely.

A quite old Sweaty Betty walking dress. It's absolutely wonderful. A Toast nightie as a dress, random tatty shorts, All Saints vest tops. On the really hot days been in the garden in my pants. I live in the middle of no where 🙂

I've been wearing nighties from Desmond and Dempsey. Nobody can believe that they're nighties!

Dresses and linen trousers with lighteight tops.

I have worn more shorts this season than I ever have before. I had to buy a pack of two to add to the one pair I own and keep on top of washing so they are ready to wear. Some hot days i just stayed in my pyjamas.

Mostly dresses. I have about 8 that I rotate for work from Next, Mango, Nobodys Child, Roman and M&S. Also a couple of cotton knee length skirts worn with a white sleeveless loose fitting linen top or plain t shirt. I bought 2 pairs of wide leg linen trousers last year but found it too hot to wear them this year. Footwear mostly flat strappy sandals.

Linen tops and loose jersey trousers. If not leaving the house a maxi kaftan.

I've lived my life in jeans, I'm a bit of a tomboy at heart.
This summer I finally bought 2 linen dresses sort of below the knee.
For the first time in ages I have a bit if tan on my poor lily white legs. I feel quite glamorous.
Ps. Don't laugh but in this heat I have found it really comfy to borrow my husbands bamboo fabric jocks. They are the shorts style. They are so cool to wear and are like a pair of short shorts so no slip needed.

Mainly shorts (monsoon linen or monsoon chambray), white v neck tshirt and black EVA birkies (plastic)
i bought three other pairs of summer shoes (fitflop sandals and moda di pelle leather wedges and one pair of closed shoes) but the birkies are so comfy and versatile mi have barely worn the others

Shorts and T-shirt - 7 days a week. Staple summer wardrobe.

Wide leg trousers instead of my usual jeans

I think linen shorts plus a loose linen dress would be a good investment for me. I don’t particularly have the legs for shorts but this year it’s needs must.

Short shorts with a strappy top or a short dress.

I got some nice linen shorts in the FatFace sale this week. They'll get some use this year and then will be ideal next summer. They're slightly A-line so quite flattering.

For work days when I have face to face appointments, dresses. Midi to above knee in length.

The rest of the time I am in little shorts and short skorts and vest/t shirts.

I WFH so I can wear what I like.

During the hot days I've been wearing lots of Manners London - I have 3 of her straight/fitted dresses, knee length, spagetti straps, no bra required.

Also linen shorts with a vest.
