The end of summer lies ahead, but we're hoping for more bling!

I’ve just been looking at the Babbaki website too - lovely summer dresses and Leonor is my favourite ‘young royal’ at the moment. If Felipe had walked past me in his polo shirt I’m not sure I would have recognised him. Leti looks great - I am also very envious of anyone that can waft around in white dresses without a hint of dirt, coffee or lunch down it.

Yesterday I had a pretty dress on, made a salad for lunch with cherry tomatoes from the greenhouse. Guess whose tomato squirted down the dress when biting into it 🙈**

I used to wear a lot of Desigual when younger thinner. Love the clothes. Especially the summer dresses.

I bought a couple of their bags years ago and still use them - not leather but well made with quite intricate designs on them. Distinctive.

Shop Leti's best looks? Why not.
Some of them are quite approximate, though.

I was flicking through that admiring her choices and then right at the end the dreaded black espadrilles with a light coloured dress. Aaarrrgh! 😆

I do especially love that red evening dress though. Fabulous!

Maireas · 10/08/2026 15:13

I don't mind espadrilles, and I am aware that she's had foot problems. I do know they're divisive though!
The red dress is gorgeous. I like the Mallorcan white ones as well.

I don't mind espadrilles per se, I just don't like them when they have that tape that criss-crosses up the leg.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 10/08/2026 15:18

I am convinced she forgot to pack the pale espadrilles for that trip and had to fall back on wearing the black ones!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 10/08/2026 15:22

I also think Letizia's is the easiest royal wardrobe to dupe because a lot of what she wears is actually not that pricey and available on the high street.

Spain doesn't seem to have as many tiara occasion as the Scandi or Dutch royals, do they? I don't think Leonor has worn one yet - perhaps she will at her 21st later this year.

Oh no it’s not the fact that they are espadrilles, it’s just that they are black and look too heavy with a light dress. Especially with the ankle lacing

Ok, but some of our happy band do not like espadrilles at all!

Aren’t tiaras for married women? Or have in got that wrong?

KiIIingMeDeftly · 10/08/2026 18:48

As far as I know, the Dutch princesses aren't married and nor is Elisabeth of Belgium! Pretty sure CPV and Madeleine wore tiaras in their singleton days too, as did Princess Anne and Felipe's sisters.

KnickerlessParsons · 10/08/2026 19:57

Thanks - no idea where I picked that up from, and gladly stand corrected!

Yes, I think there's something not quite right about the fit of the shirt.
I was looking at Meghan again and she always has flawless makeup. I know she sells jam and whatnot, but I think a makeup range would be successful. She's spot on every time.

You know what @Maireas i think you are on to something there with a make up range and as everyone knows who Meghan is.
She could just use her first name Meghan or even Meghan Markle or Sussex
Megs doesn't need to use all this royal stuff or trade on it.
I think a hair care range too could make her an awful lot of money on her own merits.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/08/2026 23:23

Back to the Spanish princesses both pretty girls but I think the Infanta Sofia is beautiful, such a gorgeous smile,
Sofia should also practice the book on one's head trick to get perfect posture / worked on my tall slouchy DD.

Sidebeforeself · 11/08/2026 19:56

Loved Meghan’s look but I would prefer a more dramatic earring (but then again I always do!)

justasking111 · 12/08/2026 08:44

Love Amalia in green. Those earrings so beautiful.

That is a gorgeous outfit on Amalia @justasking111

Maireas · 12/08/2026 09:02

I like Amalia's dress.
I'm not so keen on the shoes, they're not really summery. Maybe something more sandal adjacent?
She looks lovely though.

Love that casual white dress and gold sandal combo on Letizia, I agree her wardrobe is one of the most attainable price wise (for those who are a size zero), I love the espadrilles. That burgundy Carolina Herrera one shoulder dress is incredible.

I loved Meghan’s black one shoulder dress, but then saw it from the back and it is not as nice with the draped cape, it looks more like a Hare Krishna robe from the rear.

KnickerlessParsons · 12/08/2026 10:33

Meghan seems to like a cape (I don’t)

KiIIingMeDeftly · 12/08/2026 11:44

I've never seen a Hare Krishna looking like Meghan did the other night but I've obviously not been paying enough attention to them!

I think Gwyneth Paltrow started the cape trend with her Tom Ford gown at the Oscars several years ago but they've proved popular with royals lately. A few of Kate's recent gowns have had capes and Amalia of the Netherlands seems to like them too.

Maireas · 12/08/2026 12:08

I think Meghan carries off the one shoulder look really well. I remember when she was pregnant she was at an event in such a dress and looked stunning.
Ditto strapless.
I rather like the cape look, it can add a bit of interest and drama!

I like Amalia's green and white dress - but what it really, really needs is a pair of espadrilles. Maybe with ties that go up the leg?!?!

There's a picture of her in the dress showing a huge scar from her riding accident last year - it looks rather more nasty than was reported at the time.

I'm laughing at the espadrilles comment!
Poor Amalia, that was a nasty accident.
