Help me find a bikini for 13yo DD who's a 30F on top?

FlappicusSmith · 09/07/2026 22:17

Can anyone recommend somewhere we can get a bikini for 13yo DD who's a size 30F/ 32E on top? Naturally, all the things she wants (e.g. New Look, etc) don't work at all as they don't fit on top or give enough support and just fall down or ride up. She doesn't like the look of any of the Bravissimo ones and doesn't want something that obviously looks massively supportive on top. Yet she needs the support. Also, I don't really want to spend £60+ on a bikini that she may have outgrown (or will at least definitely be tired of) next summer.

She doesn't want a plain colour one, nor anything that is too low cut/ plunge or triangle-bikini style.

Help!

Ah ok I missed pattern

Beautifulsunflowers · 09/07/2026 22:40

Next do some nice ones by Kelly brooks - Matalan also do larger cup sizes in bikinis.

I know this is underwire but it’s from Hollister very teen “approved”… and their curvy range so designed for large cup

If she can go with her sister size peacocks were always my go too!!! Im 32ff but their 34dd were ok. Primark now do seperates so I am a large in their tops but a small/medium in the bottoms.

I was always a fan of debenhams and pour moi if shes happy to have solid colour bottoms and coloured top.

DelilahBucket · 09/07/2026 22:45

I really rate Free By Gottex and have been able to pick up the tops on eBay (new) and then just get mix and match bottoms from anywhere. A tankini could be an option for her if she wants to cover up more.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 09/07/2026 22:46

I hear you. DD15 has a tiny waist and a 30E bra size. She’s a classic hourglass. Waist made even smaller by competitive swimming. It’s very tricky.

I’ve had some luck with age 15 from Monsoon. They look like teen bikinis but the tops aren’t too tight.

She had this exact one on holiday last year:

I managed to get her a Freya bikini in the sale last year. It looked too grown up on her and she wasn’t keen. We returned it.

Thank you! Have spotted at least one on Matalan she might go for and it's not insanely expensive.

Definitely wants a bikini not a tankini.

And I really need to buy from somewhere I can return to as sizing is so hit and miss!

@Pancakeflipper Freya also pretty £££ I think? I just can't justify having to spend £30-50 on just the top

Freya isn't always pricey. You can often find sales or new ones on vinted and stuff.

Try https://www.belle-lingerie.co.uk/swimwear/bikini-tops they usually have brands reduced.

This is very pretty and she might go for it.

She's not got a 'tiny waist' though, so it may just be too small. But worth a go.

Have you tried decathlon? Lots of theirs are either very adjustable or have hidden cups. They do patterns too , something like this should give a decent amount of support, but they have lots of others too

Does she want to swim in it or just sunbathe/hang out?

If she wants to swim, I think she does need to look at bravissimo. They do their own range but they also carry brands like speedo.

My daughter was a 28FF so I feel your pain. It's hard, but they learn what does and doesn't work for them.

ArtesianWater · 09/07/2026 22:54

I used to have the same problem as a teen so can sympathise.

Partridgewell · 09/07/2026 22:56

I'm a 32E and have often had success in M&S with bikini tops that have a knot tie at the back so that you can adjust the back size iyswim. So I'll buy a size 16 to get big enough cups but can knot it tight so it's not too big round the back.

FlappicusSmith · 09/07/2026 22:56

Thanks all - some great suggestions and things I hadn't thought of and have got at least a few I can show her tomorrow.

She's struggling with self-confidence at the moment, and life in general, so it would be lovely to find her something she loves and that she feels fab in.

Both. I mean, not swimming competitive laps or anything. But she needs something that won't end up round her waist when she's jumping in or swimming on holiday.

Do you have a department store you can visit? They usually carry a decent range. We always visited big bravissimo branches to get a wide range. M&S and Bonmarche are surprisingly good too.
