Sorry everyone! I didn't realise how near the end of the old thread we were.

What on earth have you all done with yourselves for the last few hours? 😂

As always everyone welcome to join in and hopefully this is the thread we see the first 'big' BAC reveal. 😍

No luck for me on the free cleansing balm (there’s 32% off it in the Prime day sale though!) - just the free beauty founders kit if o spend £150

Benny12 · 26/06/2026 08:56

morning ladies , some advice please (and apologies if this has been asked already and i missed it ) but I wanted to try some more korean beauty so i’m looking at the stylekorean mid year award box …which would seem a good introduction and good price but never bought from them before or tried any of the products ….also torn between that and some of the amazon prime deals on medicube …any advice greatly appreciated

SummerLimes · 26/06/2026 09:11

Vinted definitely gone mad - someone just offered me £20 for a full size Milk hydro grip, Tatcha lip treatment and supergloop sunscreen 🙄

unless I’m being wildly optimistic.

Yes ive had some real low ball offers.
They may think the sun has frazzled our brains 🤣
They are annoying but it's part of the game i suppose. I wouldnt do it 🤔🤩
I feel like blocking them but have to stop myself as they may go on to buy and be perfectly fine 🤣🤣♥️♥️

I blocked someone and I think they reported my as had 2 listings removed !

I’ve just got on a train to London (unavoidable meeting) and someone has their bare feet on a seat 🤮

Call me evil but with persistent lowballers, who offer a ridic low price and then come back with 50p more if I refuse, I have been known to accept the offer and then immediately block them so they think they've got a great deal only when they go to check out they can't...

This is why it is probably for the best that I am now selling only on Ebay!

Thelifeofawife · 26/06/2026 09:47

@IDontHateRainbows Haha, I love that! 😁
It is annoying when they are stupidly low. I don’t mind discounting things but I do think “would they accept it if I offered them what they are offering me”.

I have accepted some quite low offers when it’s a bundle if there’s older stock included, or I want a bit of a clear out.

IlovePond · 26/06/2026 09:55

I’m terrible at selling stuff - I never succeed in getting anything other than a couple of quid for excellent items - I don’t know how you all do it🙀 My things are always reasonably priced but people still put in really low offers. I don’t get annoyed, though - it’s all part of the game.

I have withdrawn most of my eBay listings until January due to not wanting to reach 30 sales, so attempting to claw back some money from my purchases isn’t an option atm. (I am still annoyed that three of my total sales were cancellations before I despatched but still count for my total - that’s so unfair!)

Unless I'd just listed them in the last 48 hrs I'd probably take that. Once something has been up for a week + it's rare you get close to listed price. Happens occasionally but not often. New uploads can sometimes temporarily boost older ones to shift stuff.

Advent season is usually when you can sell most things at a good price as people are looking for specific products they know were in calendars.

I suppose what's a fair price is subjective and it depends how you came by it. If I've got unwanted stuff from edits and gwps ultimately I don't want it stuck in my house for long. If I'd paid £50 from SNK for something then changed my mind a few weeks later I'd be a lot more reluctant to sell it for £3. If loads of people are selling that product cheap though because they did get it in an edit then the market sets the rate.

I was searching 111Skin masks the other day - the black diamond one that was in the CB edit. On average they were selling for £10-15 but then there were some listings for £90 for one mask. Crazy.

There's definitely a fatigue aspect to certain products or those that have a viral moment then drop off. 12-18 months ago I could get £15 for a CT Beauty Light Wand and it would sell quickly. Then they started being in so many edits, advents and gwps. The most recent one I sold took a while to shift and I think went for around £6.

The different trends and cycles on Vinted are quite interesting when you've done it a while. I figure I just have to go with it though because I like edits and advents but I need an outlet for the stuff I don't want to keep. Otherwise I'd have to really limit how many I get or I'll end up like one of those people on Hoarders tv.

My mood sometimes dictates how low ball an offer I'll take. Sometimes I'm like yeah, just take them off my hands but on a bad day a £2 offer on something that was £4 will annoy me. 😂

I like StyleKorean, they seem to despatch quickly. And I’ve had lots of products from totally unknown (to me) brands that I’ve got along with really well.

That box looks excellent, I’m only not buying it because I got the Pharmacy box a while back and my stash is heaving, and I want to get it down a bit. But it’s tempting!

If it’s in your budget it’s definitely worth a try…

SummerLimes · 26/06/2026 10:07

@OvaHere yes I see what you mean, I was aiming for £10 per item. I’ve definitely noticed there’s more interest initially. Someone advised to re list but I’m not sure I’ve the energy for that.

Has anyone tried Strivectin products ?

IlovePond · 26/06/2026 10:09

@Benny12 - I love StyleKorean - they are a great company- but I haven’t ordered from them since they stopped including VAT at point of purchase.

This change means that you may get landed with extra charges on delivery - plus a £10-15 handling fee from DPD.

Someone on here did an order just as this change was happening and didn’t get charged, but that may have been because her order was coming in at under £35 with her store credit included, (so no duty due), or she may just have got lucky 🤷‍♀️

I believe YESSTYLE are still including VAT at point of order so they may be a safer bet - but their deals are not on the same level as SK.

I think that particular box is ok and a good introduction to K beauty skincare, but I think they have done better and cheaper ones in the recent past.

If ordering from SK, code: CLARE10 gives 10% off.

Re: What to buy

Watching some of the Korean YouTubers who post in English might be helpful.

D’Alba, Biodance and Abib products regularly get good reviews.

If you are allergic to dust mites/dust, you might want to avoid snail mucin products.

BTW: Medicube are in trouble in Korea atm for making false claims about their products. There’s nothing wrong with them - they just don’t deliver all the things that the company was claiming.

Re: Amazon - be careful about fake products-there are a lot of fake cosmetics/skincare being peddled on Amazon, eBay, etc. Look at the sellers’ reviews carefully.

Edited

There’s an interesting article in the August edition of Good Housekeeping magazine on fake online beauty, on the main platforms.

Apparently most fake perfumes contain horse urine for the authentic golden glow 🤮

Beautyfox · 25/06/2026 18:00

20% off at SNk. I’ve just ordered

Thanks - I may have ordered the Sisley neck cream too. And the enzyme mask (which I've wanted to try for ages) to also get the free gift 😳

Aaaand some biodance masks from Amazon (looove them, when I've got the occasional night alone and no hubby to laugh!), and some clothes in the Cos sale 😂Ooops! But all stuff that will be used!

Doglover73 · 26/06/2026 10:49

@IDontHateRainbows

Evil genius 🤣🤣

@SummerLimes
I reduce the things tht aren't selling by a pound. Im impatient and dont like suff on for ages. 🤣
Unless I know its a bargain at what its at.
I have a bundle discount but people bundle then undercut it.
My bedroom resembles hoarders tv atm so trying hard to sort out.
I was waiting for my daughter to empty her room as moving in August but I cant wait that long for a proper clear out as I need to clear for advents.
I tend to overtime everything. More time doing, less time thinking. 🤣😍

MrsBnow12 · 26/06/2026 10:50

@Fillybuster I have 4 of the perfumes (missing Champaca) that I would be happy to sell to you at the proportionate amount, if interested send me a PM

Got one "free" in an Elle and Bazaar £7.99 magazine bundle this month!

They're in danger of beating Elasticiser for the top spot. 😂

Thanks @Sminty2 - you have to be so so careful buying online!

I try to buy on eBay from people who are - like me - selling an eclectic range of stuff and who seem to be off-loading things from calendars as seen by their Other Items page.

If someone is selling multiples, I usually steer clear.

I never buy skincare/cosmetics from Amazon - I know lots of people do without problems, (DSis, for example), but I won’t risk it. I’ve bought my hair dye from Amazon, (and DS2’s ridiculous pomade 😹), but that’s about it.

keepincool · 26/06/2026 12:04

@Benny12 are there any particular products from the SK box that you are interested in? I have a tonne of stuff from SK and would be happy to list a bundle on Vinted for you (all brand new and unopened - i need to get rid of at least half my haul). I could list a bundle at a ridiculous price so no one else is tempted and accept a much lower offer from you. I probably have every type of k-beauty product you can think of except makeup.

IlovePond · 26/06/2026 12:06

That is such a good idea @keepincool

Honestly, I found 4 SK beauty boxes that I'd completely forgotten about this morning, including the pharmacy box 😕
