Stick on nipples? I must be getting old!

these just popped up on my M&S suggestions to buy: https://www.marksandspencer.com/silicone-stick-on-nipples/p/clp61230306
I must be getting old and out of touch because in my day we wore padded bras to hide our nipples through clothing!
and if I wanted to show some nipple these days (which I don’t) I could just wear a thin bra rather than stick these things on?!

I cannot believe the insenstivity of people here. Some women who have had breast cancer and mastectomy with implant recons/ diep recons find things very difficult not having nipples. Marks and Spencer sell mastectomy bras and full breast prosthetics. It’s not a case of ‘what are they thinking?’ They are being very thoughtful and inclusive.

How do you know it wasn’t natural?

if they were natural they'd be the only part that was. I'm convinced that she was generated by AI

Who here hasn't had a Tit v Mangle incident? Might keep a set in stock for the next time.

Could be, but last time they were popular it was because it was the fashion to have nipples visible through your clothes.

Yes. I used to fit prosthetic breasts so you could put a nipple on the other side to match the remaining breast. It's not something that was a high demand item but there is a need.

GrillaMilla · 23/06/2026 10:34

Why would you want any kind of nipple showing through your clothes??

I wouldn’t wear silicone ones but I don’t care if actual nipples show through clothes. I only wear unlined bras or none, the outline of breasts just isn’t offensive to me and just don’t consider nipples when getting dressed!

I have had a double mastectomy and have no nipplels. Maybe they are aimed at people like me.

Agree with this.
A friend of mine used them after a double mastectomy because, although she'd had really realistic nipple tattoos, there wasn't the definition under tee shirts.

Well this has been informative and entertaining in equal parts! Some good medical reasons in there amongst some interesting fashion choices.

i have noticed a lot of students don’t seem to wear bras these days (I assumed for comfort reasons - good for them!) but maybe the nipples I am seeing through their tops are not them going bra-less but actually they just all have stick on nipples?!

Why would students have stick on nipples when they have real ones? That doesn't make sense. They are usually for medical symetry. They could also be used by cross dressers, etc. I don't think they generate a ton of sales.

I wouldn’t! Next thing will be men’s plastic bulges!

surely cross dressers have nipples of their own?

It depends what prosthetics they're using.

aren't cross dressers the ones doing it for fun?

like dame Edna.

I lose track, most of these words don't seem to mean what they used to.

Well my nipples have packed up and flown south on their retirement so maybe I'll grab a pair to make it seem like they're having a staycation

Hilarious!

Mine have done the same, the bastards

I would think that's down to the individual

"Because boys"

Specifically:

"Because boys will think I'm fit and I'll pull"

I might get some to stick on my chin. Then they can migrate down to where they should be eventually?

A friend of mine's daughter looked like she wasn't wearing a bra and had pierced nipples. Her mum asked when she'd had them done and she lifted up her t-shirt to show her bra with false pierced nipples. I had no idea it was possible to buy something like that.

PersephoneSeethes · 23/06/2026 18:26

Didn't Kim Kardashian make them popular last year? IDK

That's a blast from the past.

I had some of these around 2004.

To be worn on top of padded bras so it looked like you had big(ish) perfectly rounded tits without a bra on.

I wore them on every single night out. I wore them out and had to replace them three times 😳

Yes, this is it. It’s so you can use a bra to give you the size / shape you want…but then put the nipples on top to also show them off, and give the suggestion that you are not wearing a bra and your boobs are just naturally perky.

For example, without a bra my nips would be somewhere down near my belly button. So I could put these over my bra, in a good position, to show them off.

if I so desired.

Alwaysoneoddsock · 23/06/2026 18:33

Double mastectomy cancer survivor here. Laughed out loud at this thread; it’s brilliant. Never seen these before. I did once think for a micro second one nipple had grown back but it turned out to be a bit of ham that had fallen down my top !!

Corryvreckan · 23/06/2026 18:39

Yes! I saw these and thought wtf?!
My next thought was that this is likely M&S pandering to men who say they are women.

Why would that be the case when men already have nipples?
