I received my sales parcel today. A little hot to try on the patch pocket cord jacket, but needs must. I even tried it on with a jumper underneath and can confirm that was an excellent buy. I can see myself wearing that a lot in early Autumn.

The boiled wool check scarf that I’ve had my eye on for a long time, turned out to be a perfect match for the jacket. And yes, I even tried that combination out in spite of the heat. Dedication (or just madness!)

The only thing I’m returning is the stripe linen cotton tee (non sale item). On me it was weirdly short. I compared it to the pictures on the website. I’m not much taller than the model and have a relatively short upper body, so no idea why it ended up so short on me. I also found it too heavy - it’s nothing like a t-shirt, more like a summer jumper and I have plenty of those already.

Now just waiting for my non-sale Fracap shoes to arrive.

@ShadowViolet - was that the brown cord jacket? I might buy that if it comes back into stock. Would you say it was true to (Toast) sizing?

Yes it was the brown cord jacket @faustina. I’d say it’s true to Toast sizing. I’m consistently a medium in Toast (with the exception of one very neat fitting cardigan!) and this jacket was a medium too.

It’s roomy enough to wear one of their Donegal jumpers underneath, so a smaller size may have worked as well, but that’s what I’ll probably end up wearing it with so perfect size for me.

The ecru pleat skirt came and has sadly gone back already. The waistband was just going to annoy me, I really need an elasticated waistband as my stomach is so sensitive. It was otherwise very lovely, should anyone be looking out for a return. That is me done with the sale, I am going on holidays at the end of the week and I kind of hope it is all over when I get back.

I sent a parcel back to Toast but RM have just redelivered it to me because the Post Office put the new label on the back not the front and presumably it got missed. Even though my address was partly covered they still managed to use that one somehow 🙈

That has happened to me twice!! And the first time CS told me off for not making sure the return label was stuck on top of the original. The man in the shop did it not me. No thanks for my honesty.

@Barbellaishere - post office did the sticking for me too - so annoying! It’s a lot of money to be gone from my account longer than necessary!

@ScottishMouse I did think the skirt most likely would go back, having sent mine back too, but you never really know.
I hope you have a nice holiday and you might see something lovely when you're there, I always do.

@IlovePond @Barbellaishere that’s just daft of the post office sending it back. It’s got tracking for heavens sake.
I mostly take off the original label as it’s not stuck on very well. Sometimes I write my sender address on the parcel but haven’t bother the last twice. I’ll watch out for that now.

@Countmeout the larger patchwork gilet has arrived. It’s a much better fit. Definitely not large, and it still doesn’t meet at the front. It doesn’t swing out at the back like the smaller one did. Armholes and shoulders are fine. Really pleased with it and will be keeping.

Are any of you fans of Brora? I picked up a large order from John Lewis yesterday. It’s all going back apart from one dress. The sizes were all over the place, and it was all just meh. I’m not disappointed as will save some money for a change!

I have Fracap mules and shoes from Toast. All bought in size 39; I haven't used the shoes yet, but unfortunately the 3 pairs of mules I bought last year in some buying frenzy are all a smidgeon small...

I am having a sales cull, despite them fitting well and looking good I am sending back the patch pocket dungarees and the half placket jumpsuit - as I can’t see I’m ever going to wear them enough to make the spend worth it. I am also returning the Babbi slippers, I will replace mine with another pair of Celtic slippers which I know will last.

That means so far I have only kept 2 roll top bags and a bandana. It reinforces the conclusion I come to at every sale that if I really wanted it I would have purchased at full price.

I am waiting for the button front black crinkle dress in a smaller size, and the reworn Blundstone boots.

It sounds like most of us are having a very restrained Toast sale! My only Toast purchase- the forest marl neat sweater arrived and is lovely.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I completely agree re: buying full price. I save loads if I make judicious purchases when I want them, instead of going insane at sale time and buying weird things because they’re reduced.

@MsDastardley I bought this dress from Brora (via JL tho, I find Brora’s delivery super slow). It was on my wish list so v glad to have bought it in the sale.

Have bought a 3rd pair of flat strappy Boden sandals I already have - very much a fan of stocking up when I find comfy sandals. Two JL cashmere jumpers and a Jigsaw waxed cotton jacket. Have spent quite a lot!

@MsDastardley I had a look at the Brora sale yesterday and nothing really inspired me to order

I've returned everything from my Toast order except a rug and am waiting for my reworn vibae open toe mules to arrive. The tee hasn't been despatched yet. It's a pretty disappointing summer sales season all round - even the Cos preview was uninspiring!

@faustina I think they are beginning to look stale, they rest same styles year in/out

Great taste! I’m pleased with it, it’s a bit different. I picked up a pair of patent fisherman shoes in Russell and Bromley closing down sale, so thinking they will go. I’m wearing it this weekend. No more leaving things in wardrobe for a special occasion

Definitely don’t save it for best!

@CakeAndJazz just saw that you ordered the neat cashmere cardigan on reworn. Yes I did too. Since it’s still on full price I did notice that it had actually been worn but only showed some bobbling, which I addressed. I think it’s really useful and have worn it a few times. As it’s neat it fits easily under jackets etc. I hope you like it when it arrives.

I agree re buying things I really want full price. The last few sales I have sent pretty much everything back except a couple of homeware pieces. This time I have kept the indigo jacket, which I would have bought at full price if it hadn’t been so pricey. And the button through cotton line poplin dress, which is a smidge neat, but will only be worn on occasions when a smart dress is required, I didn’t have one so it will be useful to have in my wardrobe rather than having to panic last minute to find something.
When I returned the ecru skirt yesterday, staff said there is a new drop coming next week. I’m beginning to hate (but also love!) the frequency of new drops.

I’m currently wearing my new Toast nightie that I got in last year’s sample sale and promptly forgot about!

It’s so nice and perfect for this weather. It’s the brown/orange/yellow patterned one with the neck tie ruching detail. I think it may have briefly reappeared in this year’s sale.

With something underneath I might even be able to get away with it as a dress.

I am very pleased to have rediscovered it.
