Mark Phillips was there, apparently.
I'm disappointed in Margarita AJ's outfit, very creased and a strange combination of colours. The top almost looked like a waterproof jacket? Odd headress, too.

I think it is a jacket due to the in inclement weather. It does rather spoil the look but presumably she had expected better weather and was caught out 🤷‍♀️.
Meant to say before that I also like the colour of Sophie’s dress but there is far too much going on with the sleeves, bodice and hat. It’s a good length on her though

RomainingCalm · 06/06/2026 16:07

Thank you for all the links. I’m not a fan of Harriet’s dress (but I suspect she wouldn’t have been seen dead in mine either!). Too lacy, too high-necked and the veil looked too heavy. Pretty tiara though and they both look very happy which is the only thing that matters.

I love Kate’s dress and hat. I think she wore a dress in that shade to Pippa’s wedding, not dissimilar to the one that Snowden’s girlfriend is wearing (very elegant too!). Camilla looked lovely.

Other hits for me - Sophie looks good in her favourite Beulah dress and I like Zara’s dress (I’ll ignore the headband).

No idea what Princess Anne was thinking - it’s not her best outfit but I’m sure she doesn’t care. Not keen on the bridesmaid dresses.

I can’t remember who our floral expert is - I did love the flower arches at the entrance.

Snowen's girlfriend is very elegant but his daughter looks like she's donned a waterproof over her dress!

They also turned up late! After the King and just arriving before the bride!

I think several were caught out by the cold, wet weather

I think a brolly would suffice! Not a good look.

Maybe Harriet will be on AIBU next week, "To think MiL could've made more of an effort for our wedding"!

Might be a problem if you planned a sleeveless dress during the heatwave and then arrived in the cold and rain

Along with ‘AIBU to expect my uncle to stay for my wedding reception and not go to the races’ 😂😂😂

Lunde · 06/06/2026 16:45

I'm not a huge fan of the wedding dress - although enough lace to satisfy Mrs Bennet. Harriet has a swan-like neck but the high, scalloped neck made it look short - was it a homage to Princess Anne's first wedding dress?

I also thought that the style didn't really match the vibe of the wedding - the church had been arranged with a country garden/wildflower meadow theme whereas the bride dressed for a much more formal wedding with a full veil, long train and tiara.

I think you'd need to look ahead at the English weather!

Has anyone seen the back of the dress - I'm wondering if the whole lace overdress/shirt is removable to create a sleeveless reception dress?

bluegreygreen · 06/06/2026 17:10

If you scroll down the Town and Country page some of the photos show that part is a lace shrug with a scalloped edge - haven't seen any pictures of the back.

I am not crazy about the wedding dress or the veil tbh. She is very pretty though and they look happy together

Sidebeforeself · 06/06/2026 18:42

I don’t like the dress at all but then again I hate the “ choked by lace “ look . I didn’t like Kate’s wedding dress for that reason but I know it’s sacrilege to say that . Kate and Sophie both looked beautiful. It does seem to be a proper happy family wedding

Yes I’ve seen pics of the back and it’s button down… Definitely removable shrug - would have been much nicer without the high neck!

SweetBaklava · 06/06/2026 19:45

I really didn’t like Harriet’s wedding drsss at all, such a shame. Camilla, Kate and Linley’s partner (who is she?) were my favourites. I think Camilla and Kate’s choices of colour were probably quite deliberate so as not to steal attention from the bride, Kate did similar at her sister’s wedding. Bridesmaids dresses were nice but didn’t really match the bride’s aesthetic. None of the other royals wowed me, particularly Anne - black handbag and WTAF!!!!

FabulousFreshias · 06/06/2026 19:57

I love Beatrice’s dress, I thought she looked gorgeous. Harriet’s dress, not my choice but she looks so happy! I agree with the previous poster who said that Savannah Phillips always seems to be smirking, If it wasn’t that she’s always pictured like that I would’ve thought that she wasn’t happy to be there today, but hopefully that’s not the case. I was surprised to see Edward and Sophie’s son there, thought he would be in the middle of A levels, was their daughter Louise there? I haven’t seen any pictures of her.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 06/06/2026 20:11

Presumably it's easier for James to get there from Windsor for the day than it is for Louise to come from Scotland. I thought all three bridesmaids looked lovely and couldn't see any sign of smirking, though maybe I didn't look closely enough!

CarolinaInTheMorning · 06/06/2026 20:13

I think Catherine, Camilla, and Lord Snowden's GF were the best dressed of the bunch. Normally, I don't care for that color on Kate, but I think the whole ensemble, color and all, really worked.

Like so many others, I didn't care for Harriet's dress. I don't have an issue with older brides wearing the full kit, but I just didn't care for the very high neck or the shape of the dress.

I agree with a previous poster that I would have made a different shoe choice for the bridesmaids, perhaps a little kitten heel to make their look a bit more grown up. They are all teenagers after all.

TimorousOrBold · 06/06/2026 20:45

I’d wager those teenagers hated those silly ballet shoes. They looked ridiculous.

frugalkitty · 06/06/2026 20:47

I think most of the guest outfits were dull and a bit dreary overall. Nothing seemed spot on with any of the outfits. I don't like the bride's dress either, I thought it was very severe and not sure the veil was needed.
Thanks for the new thread Maireas, although I'm hopeless at following these days!

So this is where you are.
Just found this new thread. Phew !
I have just seen the wedding photos.
Not keen on the bride’s dress. Too buttoned up iykwim.
Kate looks so elegant if a little too thin.
and Imho her hair needs 2 inches off.
Love Zara’s outfit, the blue is just beautiful, is that an Anya Hindmarch bag ?
Love Sophie’s outfit too.
Camilla’s is a gorgeous colour.
The bridesmaids are lovely as are Mia Tindal and Lena.
Not too keen on Princess Anne’s outfit. It’s grand and could be a whole lot worse.

Found ye.

Harriet looked so very happy which was lovely. Her dress reminded me of something from a TV dramatisation of a Lucy Maud Montgomery book. All the covered up, buttoned up lace looked anachronistic . Committed Christian seems to be her thing so maybe she is leaning into that . It was very demure.

I thought the girls looked beautiful in their dresses.

Kate - lovely shape but reminded me of the Norland nanny uniform.

Sophie - sleeves no, bag no. Colour lovely.
