I was also amazed by the jacket! But the visit was apparently a couple of weeks ago, so it wasn’t so hot then. The pictures released to co-ordinate with armed forces day (which makes sense, they will likely want to keep visits involving their children low-key).

Lovely photo of the two of them, though.

I think she is stalking my DH, badly. That's the third time I'm aware of that she has either visited a base DH is stationed at but away from on the day of her visit or that he has just left.

Sidebeforeself · 28/06/2026 20:39

That really is an achievement. I hope she wasn’t wearing her high heels! Seriously, that is a gruelling challenge so well done to her.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 28/06/2026 21:29

Good on her, a friend of mine completed it this weekend too. Hopefully there'll be a massive upsurge in donations to the Royal Marsden.

Excellent 👌. Great achievement, great cause.

Was it you who said it looked Edwardian, Deftly? Very true, it's definitely very 1910.

It is so Edwardian! I love the colours, really soft and pretty.

Very Edwardian, very pretty.

I love that photo of Catherine atop Ben Nevis. Who among us who grew up in the UK or Ireland doesn't have a photo in a grey mist grinning through the rain.

Look if I can still fit into the same clothes I wore 42 years ago I’m damn well wearing them too.

I’m a fan of wearing clothes for as long as possible. I have recently lost weight and am delighted to be able to re-wear a top and dress both of which must be 20 years old and now fit again. I had one pair of healed (sp.) boots I bought from C & A in the 1980s that I only gave to charity in 2020 when I regretfully realised my knees would never allow me to wear them again 😂.

I love that Anne has always reworn clothes and hope she will continue to do so.

I like Charlene's white shirt dress, it's not too severe and looks cool. The twins look very sweet, semi formal, and nice to see Aunt Stephanie with them.

Maxima has opened a battery park at a power station named after her(!) and has gone for a bit of a swinging sixties vibe with her ensemble. Though I initially read that as a power station in Battery Park and wondered why New York was naming a power station after a Dutch queen!

How lovely to have a power station named after you! Another Natan creation, I rather like the fringing and am slightly disappointed she didn't get the matching fringed clutch bag as well! Groovy baby.

Has Max worn that green dress before? I feel like I've already seen her in it for some reason. Maybe she's worn something similar before.

I think that crown may belong to Princess Birgitte of Sweden later in life, when she lived in Spain and played a lot of golf: https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/01/princess-birgittas-tiaras.html

Yes, I knew it! Rotterdam, September 2024. I think I prefer it the first time with her hair down and no hat - the informality is a better match for the dress imo.
