Sophie has a new hair cut - it looks lovely on her.

Maxima’s outfit is a miss from me. Too crumpled (what fabric is it) and a bit shapeless. Her shoes look nice from a distance but they have clear plastic panels and her feet are oozing out over the top which I imagine isn’t comfortable. I do like the hat / headband and the big bird style fringing as a Maxima style fun element but overall it’s a miss due to the fit and fabric.

The lady in pink by contrast looks chic and elegant in her well fitted and smooth outfit. And how come only the man is on the blue carpet? Someone should have got a wider carpet! No one puts Queen Maxima off the carpet!

According to what I read the king had a special dinner and sleepover in Edinburgh for Anne and Edward and William. (We are on first name terms...) I don't know if spouses were there.
If spouses weren't invited it would be good for a mumsnet thread.
I hope we get graduation photos and St Andrews is warm and sunny.

I think they were attending an Order of the Thistle event, so for practical and possibly security reasons they all stayed at Holyrood.
I don't think there's anything unusual or noteworthy in that.

I think the article I read suggested it was unusual...it was an article that appeared randomly on a news site on my laptop so I can't reread it! I suppose they can usually all go home if they are in London or Berkshire!

Yes, it's a Scottish Order, something like the Order of the Garter, so they were present for that. Staying in Edinburgh in one secure location would be a practical solution for that event.

Edward is also patron of the Lyceum now so was visiting them.

Agree that coat is gorgeous and really suits her, as does the blue underneath. It’s a shame she doesn’t have a hat anywhere in her collection that matches it all a bit better. The black is rather heavy for summer )even if it is a bit chilly where she is) and the green she has on in the other pictures doesn’t work at all

That hat has a touch of Maxima about it. I like the coat, it's a bit more adventurous.

Catherine is at Wimbledon in a blue trouser suit. It looks like linen, wasn’t there something about a British weavers she was using, wonder if it’s them.
