I wonder at the weight of some of those gowns.

Didn't they tie one of her headscarves around her horse's neck in her funeral procession.

Was that her pony at Windsor? I think I remember that.

I just remember seeing something about a headscarf. My mother and aunts (similar vintage as QEII) were great headscarf wearers.

I've just checked - it was draped over the pony's saddle.

I was there today! I thought Angela Kelly was underrepresented tbh. It seemed there was a LOT more Stewart Parvin. The one Angela Kelly evening dress there looked very feeble against the couture. I’ve got the book so will be interesting to see what it says about the way the exhibition was curated.

I was also interested that whilst the Fringe tiara looked super, the lovers knot brooch did not display well. I was confirmed in my hatred of the aquamarine and Burmese ruby tiaras. They need breaking up.

All the tweed and tartan was terribly smart and I loved seeing her baby and childhood outfits too.

The new look velvet coats were exceptional.

I’ve just discovered This YouTube channel devoted to Royal Jewels. The commentary sounds like it’s AI and sometimes is a bit sugary, but also often gives good insights and it goes into a lot of detail. The most recent video, about the Dutch jewels, is interesting and bang up to date as it comments on what clothes and jewels Máxima and Amalia wore at the recent German state banquet. It also mentions and shows the lovely dress Elke Büdenbender, the wife of the German president wore.

Trooping the colour today. Quick (ish) parkrun then home to watch it with a cuppa.

The hats! I forgot the hats!!

The Queen is wearing a wonderful black hat with a white feathery waggle bit on top. It reminds me of those deep sea fish that have a fake fish antenna that they wriggle to attract their prey.

Prince George is going to be so tall.

I quite like Kate's giant hat - worthy of Maxima - but the white edging on her blue jacket is giving cabin crew.

I prefer Sophie's and Charlotte's cream ensembles.

A rare miss from Birgitte too - the polka dots are nice but why the giant neck frill?

I love Kate's hat, very dramatic with the feathers, very elegant. A classic Catherine Walker design with the outfit otherwise, very Kate, nice colour, but nothing new.
Sophie's outfit is lovely, she has some good hats.

Loving Camilla in the military red and the feather. Kate looks fabulous, although there’s been another outbreak of white edging. First glance at Sophie’s dress is that it looks very elegant.

Camilla looks fabulous. Always wondered if Sophie and Birgitte get a clothing allowance? Birgitte came to dc school many moons ago and was tres chic.

Ah yes, Deftly, I see what you mean about Birgitte's outfit. The frilly collar also seems to have two brooches attached, which looks a bit odd. I like the polka dots and the hat, though maybe without the veil.

My first thought with Birgitte was that she was very ‘on trend’ with the spots. Second thought was ‘what on earth is that frill doing?’ 😂

Sophie wins for me today! Kate’s hat is fab but the coat is just too Diana 80s vibes for me.
