I agree, nice looks from all the family. The Self Portrait is lovely, and I like that Leti hasn't worn white shoes. Sofia and Leonor look appropriate but not too formally dressed. Just right. The low heeled slingback is obviously the way to go.

I think the wedding dress is utterly beautiful, I love the neckline of the underdress and bet the lace topper could be slipped off at the reception.

To be fair, she had few options on silhouette given Autumn’s was full skirted. I say good call to go opposite.

I also think the BM’s dresses were lovely. They are young to mid-teen and this isn’t the day for BooHoo.

I reckon Anne (bless her) got caught late at the stables and had to throw on whatever was closest. She definitely wore the hat at Zara’s christening.

Lovely looks from the Spanish at the mass. I'd love a close up of Leonora's shoes - they look lovely. If Felipe ever falls on hard times he can spend the rest of his life earning a fortune modelling suits.

Eaumyword · 07/06/2026 22:48

Leti looks stunning in the white outfit.

😊 that is very true!

My verdicts on the wedding outfits:

Harriet: love the lace and shape of the dress but the collar is a bit too high, it looked uncomfortable. Disliked the veil but I dislike all
veils, however over the face is the worst so thumbs down. The tiara would have looked far better without a veil.

Bridesmaids - beautiful dressed but again the collars a bit high. Ballet flats looked a bit young, a low heel would have been more fitting.

Queen - generally good but not keen on the scalloped edges

Catherine - flawless but a little bland

Sophie - liked the dress apart from the cuffs, bag was a miss. Hair looked fabulous.

Zara - gorgeous from behind, loved the colour but not the silver shoes and the bow on front is too fussy. Don't like the inflated Alice band headwear she often chooses either.

Anne - get her some light coloured accessories!

Lady Sarah - great skirt, shirt was a bit business-like

Beatrice - loved the dress, very flattering, colour suits her, but another mismatched inflatable Alice band spoiled the look

Eugenie - I didn't really see but looked more funeral than June wedding.

1986 was my shoulder pad era. They have returned this year albeit more subtle than some of them were back then. I don't think I'd have looked at a twit I was a smart but not out there dresser.

But Anne wasn't doing some witty retro shoulder pad thing was she?
Anyway, never mind!

Nice picture of the Spanish Royals at a Holy Mass in Madrid. Leti’s Self Portrait dress is very similar (or the same?) as one that Kate’s worn. I like Leonor’s dress - she is really growing into her role and always seems to have a rather quiet elegance about her.

I spent this morning at the Kings Gallery seeing the exhibition of the HMTLQ clothes. It’s well worth a visit with a few jewels on display including the turquoise and ruby tiaras. They also had the fringe tiara with QEIIs wedding dress.

As an embroiderer the hours that must have been spent on many of the dresses is staggering. The coronation gown must be really heavy with all the embellishments.

They have extended the exhibition to next April.

Thanks, Kirsch - I know some people have been to see it, and I'm going soon, it sounds like a very interesting exhibition. I always thought that Coronation gown was a work of art, your take on the embroidery just confirms it.

I really wasn't keen on the wedding dress.
It was way too fussy & I didn't like the lace overlaying an athletic looking vest underneath. Plus the high collar looked uncomfortable. Nothing will ever come close to the beauty of Grace Kellys lace wedding dress for me. I liked the bridesmaids dresses & shoes.
Respect for Princess Anne & not going out & buying a new dress for the occasion. Kate looked perfect even though the colour wasn't the best for her skin tone. And Camilla has found her style and always looks lovely these days.

While I was catching up on the wedding photos, I spotted this story about Mette Marit. She's been put on the waiting list for a lung transplant, her condition seems to be worsening 😔

KiIIingMeDeftly · 08/06/2026 13:17

Yes, and I heard Ingrid has had to cut her studies short and fly back to be with her. So it must be very serious.

Kirschcherries · 08/06/2026 13:38

Such a shame.

Serenster · 08/06/2026 13:47

It’s awful news - you generally have to be looking at 1-2 years of predicted life at most to make it onto the transplant list, and even if a donor is found and the operation is successful your prognosis is then not great - I think 5-10 years after the transplant is considered the likely outcome.

I know Mette-Marit and her oldest son are (rightfully) controversial figures in Norway right now, but this is a terrible situation for any family, let alone one so in the public eye. The Norwegian court has basically had to say that they will be releasing as little information about her situation as possible, as they are also very aware that certain sectors will be trying to identify if she has jumped any queues, and if she finds a donor, trying to identify the donor (how awful, but you know if would happen…). And both Harald and Sonja are in their late 80s and frail too.

justasking111 · 08/06/2026 21:15

I think Sonja is or was admitted to hospital last week. So it's a pretty grim time for the family.

I read that the doctors are refusing to say more about the timing etc so as not to breach medical confidentiality and identify possible donors. Norway has a very small lung transplant waiting list - only 30-40 of the most seriously ill people so it would be easy to link to a death if the press knows the exact transplant date.

I think it must be very serious currently as Ingrid Alexandra left University in Australia before the end of term and Crown Prince Haakon cut short an official visit to Japan to return to Norway last week.

It is going to continue to be grim as the King and Queen have both had health crises in recent months and the verdict is due in Marius' trial next week.

However the outcome of lung transplants are not great - only 55% survive 10 years.

I'm disappointed with the blouse, but I suppose even Max has a limit.

I like Charlotte's shoes, but the dress looks a bit odd and out of place. Otherwise good work from the Casiraghis 👍
