So I think I’ve found the one.
i wanted a floor length gown, it needs taking up
not normally my colour but liked it.

not loving the fascinator so will choose something else

happy to take thoughts/feedback as I am so bad at choosing

I have been to 2 black tie weddings. Both mid afternoon. One in America and one in Ireland. One was peak fascinator era.
My hat hire lady has headpiece which are gussied up hairstyles. Less fascinating but fancier than day wear.

I've recently been to my first black tie wedding and proceedings started at 2.30pm. It was absolutely fine!
OP - dress is fab. I might ditch the train, but obviously that's completely up to you.

Not really. They were very 'in' in the 80s and then I didn't see them for decades.
