Help me find a 100% cotton shirt dress pleeeaaaaase!

I’ve seen people suggest brands on here that I’d never heard of before so I’m hoping someone has seen something!

size 12

budget up to around £125

If I could find something this shape:

in 100% cotton, in maybe a slightly stronger, warmer colour (or cream) that would be ideal! (I am a bright spring)

So, knee length, tailored, not baggy or oversized etc. it just seems like there should be a million but they’re all polyester!

Thank you, that looks lovely and would definitely suit my sister! But stripes just aren’t any good for me unfortunately unless they’re really subtle.

Wow, thank you everyone for all your suggestions! I probably should have said in the Op, that ideally I’m looking for 3/4 or long sleeves (the ones in the link I shared are rolled up but I’d like the option of long sleeves). It’s just really hard to find something in that design.

The dark blue community one is probably the closest but I wonder if I could size down as even that amount of extra fabric would make me look like a total mess. It’s a curse! I love oversized things on other people they just don’t look right on me at all.

I think I might have to compromise and get something with short sleeves :(

Thank you, to be honest dressier isn’t a problem, it’s more the sleeve length but it’s like I’m trying to find a unicorn!

I have this problem every summer OP, trying to find the perfect shirt dress - it still eludes me. I want plain - and most are too fussy - but also a decent length - mid calf, whereas most hit me below the knee with the belt tied which is not flattering on me.

Add to that poofy sleeves or shoulders (no thanks, they’re already big enough), breast pockets (why clothes manufacturers think this is a necessity is beyond me), high round collar (lot of these this year) waist that is low enough (most of the ties end up round my rib cage), ideally blue that isn’t denim - or another colour that doesn’t suit me (a lot of brown this year) and you can see the problem. It should be easy to find but is, as you’ve said, like trying to find a unicorn !

Yes! This is my exact problem! If it’s the perfect shape it’s usually in polyester or some fussy pattern eg floral. If it’s plain colour it has fussy pleats or puffy sleeves etc etc. I have been looking for a few years and still never found one that’s just right!
