Help me find a 100% cotton shirt dress pleeeaaaaase!

I’ve seen people suggest brands on here that I’d never heard of before so I’m hoping someone has seen something!

size 12

budget up to around £125

If I could find something this shape:

in 100% cotton, in maybe a slightly stronger, warmer colour (or cream) that would be ideal! (I am a bright spring)

So, knee length, tailored, not baggy or oversized etc. it just seems like there should be a million but they’re all polyester!

There are other cotton shirt dresses too on the Fat Face site but one is beachwear and the other stripy so o don’t think they fit the description. The denim one is in the sale.

I actually think this looks great! It’s pure cotton too :) you are right about that shade of green in the other dress as well - it’s one I never considered until I got my colours done and it’s one of the best colours for me.

Go for it - I'm sure you can never have too many shirt-dresses!!

@AllFloatOn M&S have 64 cotton shirt dresses on their web site. I’m sure something would suit! Or look at Boden. They often do them. I’ve seen Simply Beach do them too.

The Boden shirt dresses tend to be very high waisted - I’ve tried so many from there and every single one has gone back for that reason. This year a lot of them have very high round collars, rather than shirt collars, which don’t suit me at all sadly. I check M&S every year - they don’t have anything that fits the bill this season; it’s really frustrating.

Cos is a bit hit and miss - they have lovely quality plain unembellished shirt dresses and I’ve tried quite a few from there. My experience is that they’re generally pretty big and not designed to be belted; there’s just too much material for it to work without looking like a sack tied in the middle. Even the belted ones I’ve tried have been too big.

I know sewing isn’t for everyone but in case you’re tempted to try, I love this pattern

I haven’t made any clothes since I was a teenager, I’ve only tailored a few things, but the long sleeve version is soooo perfect. Why can’t someone make something like that so I can be lazy?

Very much out of budget but they do sometimes go on sale to £300 but Samantha Sung shirt dresses are 👌

some on Vinted too. The US site shows a huge variety of shapes (different sleeve lengths).

for Vinted, the labels are US sizing so if it says 10 it’s a UK 14 and not that generous. But they’re swishy and cotton and so nicely and flatteringly cut.

I bought a different FC shirt dress earlier this week, not cotton but gorgeous. Not sure on colours but thought I'd share links just incase

I'm not sure if Lidl and Style and Beauty should be in the same sentence together, but they do have 100% cotton shirt dresses, long sleeves, in denim blue.
Although not the colour you asked about @AllFloatOn but thought it might be helpful for anyone else looking.
Sadly the arms are too ladylike for my bingo wings!

For a brand trying to sell itself to British women as the ultimate in French style Sezanne is so naff.

In your opinion. It's ok, I wouldn't buy it myself but wouldn't think it hideous on anyone else. The styling is completely naff.

I probably wouldn't notice if someone was wearing it. It doesn't look like a £190 dress.

Probably not the right colour or length but cotton and within budget.

That's really nice ... not a brand I look at, but I might have to re-think ... I would wear that a lot.

I hadn't even heard of it but at that price you could get two.
I only found it because I looked at H&M then New Look.
Both had some but the Gina one looked worth sharing with others on the thread.
