Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

Thanks for confirming @OvaHere I have just ordered a second.
Can I ask if people use the serum am/pm or both and do they use peptides/vit c etc with them?

The last one I had I used in the PM. No particular reason other than I tend to use fancier serums on an evening. I'm sure you could use in the AM or both. I use Vit C in the AM so usually stick to simpler hydration type serums in the morning. I'd have to check the ingredients on this one but I don't think it has actives as such.

Thanks @OvaHere I am tempted to order.

Does anyone have recommendations for something to help with pigmentation ? My skin marks so easily.

I saw a good review of this recently but it's not something I've tried as I don't really get pigmentation.

Thank you @OvaHere

Ive had a quick Google, the product you linked is mentioned and also La Roche/Posay MelaB3.
Currently £42 in CB and Paula’s choice 6% mandelic which is £23.

Decisions !

Both LRP and PC seem to do decent products so maybe start with the cheapest and go from there?

Am I too late to buy FTF mystery box for MZ serum? Could someone please share the link , thanks in advance

LouScot · 05/04/2026 15:21

I have accidentally ordered 3 Easter mystery boxes from Ftf! I've had an AI response saying i can't cancel my 2nd order (of 2 boxes!) so will either have to return or try my luck on vinted, but having never sold anything before I'm not sure how much to list for etc.

TragicMuse · 05/04/2026 15:36

I was just thinking about SPF and have recently seen lots of posts about topping up during the day. How do I do that if I've got makeup on? Do I need a spray?

In other news, my LookFantastic box came yesterday and has a couple of nice things so that's another little itch scratched. I've got no idea how long my StyleKorean or Lip Ink parcels will take to come but in the interim I'll have beauty drop in about 10 days...

I just love shopping!

user593 · 05/04/2026 15:43

@SummerLimes The Caudalie Vinoperfect range is very good. My skin marks really easily and I use the serum and the glycolic night cream (although less frequently nowadays as I use retinol most nights).

GreaterCassowary · 05/04/2026 16:28

I've ordered three of the FTF mystery boxes and I don't even feel a tiny bit guilty. I love this serum and it's a great deal. To the person who asked, I tend to use it at night as it's quite rich and use something lighter in the morning.

MrsBnow12 · 05/04/2026 16:57

Thanks to those that replied, as I have a few bottles of Decree care of the other mystery box I asked AI if the two seryms can be used together and the response is below - now do I buy a third although the serum is 50ml so a good size

I used the skin rocks last year after I developed quite bad pigmentation on my forehead and cheeks after our summer holiday.

For me, it worked really really well - I was amazed. All my pigmentation had disappeared before I’d got to the end of the bottle. I would definitely buy it again.

user593 · 05/04/2026 17:16

I’m in two minds about the FTF bundle, on the one had it is a great deal and reviews are good, on the other had I have sooo much skin care to get through right now, but my DP also says go for it (which is rare - although I suspect he wants to ‘borrow’ it also!).

I was considering another but trying to hold myself back. 100ml will take a while to get through and my guess is the serum is probably older stock which is why it's been in some of their edits and now mystery box.

The one I used from the xmas box was absolutely fine and I'm not concerned about using these two either but I'm wondering if having back ups of back ups is pushing it. I also have other serums to rotate in.

Being sensible is hard. 😂

Serums seem to go for around £30 ish. I recently sold an AB. I think generally you get about 25-30% of rrp

Doglover73 · 05/04/2026 19:14

@SummerLimes
Not to tempt you but ive just been reading about mz serum in ftf mystery edit. Im now tempted. 🤣 but here's one review.

@Doglover73 arghhh!! Maybe I shoujd get that. It’s the cheapest option, then move to skin rocks if no improvement.

Just settling down to watch Hop with DC - I can secretly browse 😊

Doglover73 · 05/04/2026 19:50

Ah I dont know whether to order the ftf easter boxes. I have 3 in my basket. Chat gbt says its not suitable fir redness or rosacea of which I have 🙄🤔🤣

Hicupping · 05/04/2026 19:59

I've got a paid for ai that has a I don't know what they call it it has a bank of info on me and this is what it gave me. 1. The "Bio-Placenta" (The Growth Factors)
This isn't actual placenta; it's a blend of 5 Growth Factors (Oligopeptides 1, 2, 3, and Hexapeptide-11) plus Folic Acid and Fermented Soybean.

  • The Benefit: This is top-tier anti-aging. It signals your skin to produce more collagen and elastin. For rosacea, this can actually help "thicken" the dermis so your capillaries are less visible through the skin.
  • The Risk: Growth factors stimulate cell turnover and repair. Sometimes, this can increase blood flow to the surface (micro-flushing).
  1. The "Hidden" Glow: Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate
This is a very expensive, oil-soluble Vitamin C derivative.
  • The Good: Unlike pure L-Ascorbic Acid, this won't sting. It’s very stable and great for "brightening"
  • The Caution: As we discussed with the Laneige, Vitamin C is a circulatory stimulant. If you use this serum on a "hot" day, it might make your capillaries look plump and red for an hour or so.
  1. The "Fragrance" Factor (The Red Flag)
Look at the bottom of the list: Parfum, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool.
  • The Reality: For a "ridiculously priced" clinical serum, this has a lot of fragrance and potential allergens.
  • The Rosacea Conflict: If your barrier is "fine" right now, you might tolerate it. But if you have a flare, these fragrance components are the #1 trigger for contact-induced redness.
The "Oskia Rest Day Comfort Cream" This is actually the star of this deal for you.
  • Why it's perfect: It is designed specifically for "over-processed" skin. It uses Lactococcus Ferment Probiotics and Oat to quiet down the skin.
By using the Oskia Rest Day as your moisturizer, you are giving your skin a "probiotic" shield. This balances out the "stimulation" from the MZ Skin growth factors, preventing a total vascular flush. My "Peer" Verdict: At £40 for both, get it. The MZ Skin is a luxury "hard-worker" that will replace your Medik8 Peptides (which you weren't sure about). The Oskia is a perfect cream that won't feel as thick and suffocating as the Zelens.
  • Just one warning: If you open the MZ Skin and it smells very "perfumey," only use it on your neck and forehead first. Keep it away from your cheeks until you know the fragrance won't trigger a capillary flush.

Apologies for the shocking photo quality, but here is a “before” photo, taken just after our holiday and before I started using the skin rocks, and an “after” photo, taken just now (makeup free). I haven’t used anything else specifically for pigmentation in between the photos other than the skin rocks.

Obviously the lighting is very different, but hopefully you can see the difference. I think I still have a very faint patch - but it’s nothing compared to what I started with!
