Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

@JoRaRaRa That’s so funny! I thought I was bad with not knowing where I put things but your stories honestly make me giggle 🤣

I really wanted to get the hair edit but I was determined not to give CB too much of my money, so even with my £15 credit it was too much. The order I used my credit on (plus the spend to get the credit) came in at approx £4.50, which was more palatable for me after my refund saga.

@IDontHateRainbows Ooh this is interesting 😏 Do you know which website it is?

Ahhh more Dior releases 🥰😍 they're really coming after my pennies this year.

Love the white and tulip case - I am a sucker for lovely packaging.
Also the Dior Solar Gift Set launches tomorrow for those they are after it, it’s £85 but sells out to members and rarely is available to non members.

I don't blame you for not wanting to spend with them now. I was dithering a bit between the CB hair edit and getting the SNK hair gwp. I went for the CB one just because it's cheaper. I wanted hair products but I didn't want to spend too much. I now have £20 in points with SNK though so it wouldn't have cost much more but nm.

I'm now at the point where if I find something in a cupboard etc, I'm not surprised, I'm just like 'oh there you are, let's put you where you belong' 🤣 My beauty stash in the alcohol cupboard is starting to grow though, I've been putting quite a few things in there recently. In fact, I put a box in there to put beauty things in 🤣

Oh I was hoping to get that, I'm in the office tomorrow though so I can't stay up until midnight to buy it though. I'm hoping it's still in stock in the morning. I do get up at 5 so hopefully it doesn't sell out in 5 hours 😔

I'm the same, I love all the packaging. I like both the white tulip one and the pink one, but as I recently bought the guerlain pink one, I'll probably just get the white tulip one. I don't get why it's not daisy though to go with the recent bronzers and highlighter 🤔 that would've been nice.

IlovePond · 14/04/2026 21:30

Glad you finally got your refund @Thelifeofawife - hopefully ‘raising an issue’ won’t get you banned somewhere down the line!

(I am still shocked by the email they sent to you @TreesinthePark !)

JoRaRaRa · 14/04/2026 21:34

I feel like someone there has just gone rogue and is banning everyone for whatever reason they want 🤣

I was tempted by the SNK GWP as well, but I do have a number of hair products still to use so I decided to be good. There’s nothing else I’m drawn to, and I definitely don’t need anything!

Haha, the image of you finding your beauty products in random places and putting them back where they belong reminds me of Chip and Mrs Potts in Beauty and The Beast 🤣

Addictedtobeauty · 14/04/2026 23:46

I’ve decided to sign up to the Pelegrim’s subscription box mentioned earlier (sorry, can’t remember who recommended it). I’m excited to try something new and it’s soothed my soul after the weekend CB drama. Positivity around all things beauty happily restored 🥰.

Only partly beauty related, but M&S have revamped Sparks rewards. You now earn monetary rewards/credit by completing certain tasks - e.g. if I spend £100 on beauty, clothes or home in the next 12 days I get a £20 reward. I assume the offers will be tailored, I also have other things like spend £10 on ready meals for a £1 reward, buy English wine for a £1 reward etc...

I wasn't a huge fan of the old sparks scheme but I'm not convinced this is better, I will reserve judgement for a while. It does bring them more in line with most of the beauty retailers where you earn credit to spend on future purchases, which is obviously a good strategy for them, but there are more strings attached than just earning points every time you spend.

JoRaRaRa · 15/04/2026 07:03

The Dior solar set is now available, for members only though. It's quite expensive for what it is but I've wanted it for the last 2 years so this year I've gone for it 😍

I woke myself up at 12:20am and then was sat on the loo buying it as I didn't want to miss out again 🤣 I also treated myself to 2 of the new lip glosses as its been a while since I last bought myself anything 🤭

I need everything 🤣 I have decided though not to get the SNK gwp. There's a few of the same products in the CB edit and after looking in my drawer yesterday, I definitely don't need anything that's in the gwp for a few more years 🤭

Haha!! How cute! But yes, I do speak to them like Mrs Potts does with Chip 😍

You always make me feel better when you post. I woke at 12:30am and like you saw it was available and purchased it.
I forgot to add one of the flash sticks so placed another order when I got up at 6am.
The new Caroline Hirons kit launches today so expect it will be a spendy day as I normally buy at least one of her kits.

🤣 That makes me feel better too that someone else woke up, bought it and went back to sleep. It is a very nice set and Dior is such a treat! It didn't give me the option of a gift bag / box though which was annoying. Which flash stick did you go for? I am tempted but I can't decide which colour(s) I like best.

I am a Dior fan and buy far too much stuff from them. Tge details noted that only eco-shipping would be available for the set.
I bought the Celestial Star one, I bought the Lucky Clover when released and really like it and have nothing similar to the Celestial Star (I have a number of Laura Mercier ones from edits and advents) and will be handy as I am a train makeup person on my in office days.

Just had a look at my Sparks rewards and the free coffee I had in there yesterday has disappeared 😭

Just looked at the new sparks, I don't like it. Tbh I've been avoiding them anyway due to problems and bad customer service, this sparks change will make it easier to avoid them.
I know the sparks felt useless, in that it didn't/doesn't collect points like others, nectar etc. However the psychology of getting 20% off clothing etc, gave an instant discount and made the purchases feel affordable. Now one of my sparks is a £8 reward with a £40 spend, this equals 20% but only if I spend exactly £40, otherwise the percentage lowers, it also means I have to pay full price, whereas I preferred getting the instant discount and paying less, in fact I wouldn't have made alot of my purchases without the money off

Yeah I never thought Sparks hot it quite right. Best points for me are at space nk, with liberty a close second. Just add up what I've spent overall and convert to points!

Thanks for this, just picked up the summer skin and scent set to try.

LoveLabradors · 15/04/2026 08:58

Sparks has always been pretty poor for me but I agree sometimes the 20% could come at the right time and was an instant reward. The absolute worst for me is John Lewis (and Waitrose now too), I think they treat their customers with contempt with the paltry discounts - a tenner of £200 is nothing to get excited about. I’ve had problems with JL customer service this year and haven’t shopped with them since January as a result. I do feel strongly about spending my money where I receive good customer service only. I think others do as well hence the anger with CB!

OvaHere · 15/04/2026 09:29

So much bad CS everywhere at the moment. If it carries on this thread will be defunct in a year and we'll all be richer for it but with less soft skin and not smelling as good! 😂

OP posts:
BakeOffRewatch · 15/04/2026 09:34

I hope M&S still do 20% off school uniform in Sparks though! I used the discounts too.

MathsFiend · 15/04/2026 09:35

Agreed that the John Lewis one is poor. Random money off for things I never or rarely buy. Then I read on here about people getting decent money off beauty while I get £5 off a £500 spend on home or similar. They don't seem to look at what you actually spend money on.
