Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

@MathsFiend - I agree that normally it should be ok to send orders back by post, but given that you have received totally the wrong order, I can see that it might be too confusing for staff if you sent it back to the warehouse.

I hope you can get it sorted.

This reminds me of an earlier post about Boots - possibly another thread - where people were being encouraged to do C&C and open parcels in-store in front of staff to check for any problems with the order. That way returns could be immediately given.

Apparently it was due to the volume of complaints Boots were getting about missing/faulty items due to problems in the warehouse.

I have started doing Boots C&C due to parcels arriving ripped open. Quite apart from Boots’ own issues, there also seems to be a problem with theft at my local RM sorting office as our post often arrives looking as if it has been tampered with.

I popped over to face the future to order another Easter mystery bundle as my skin seems to like the serum, and there is a new mystery haircare edit. Any ideas? I do get through a lot of hair products and its only £20....

IlovePond · 10/04/2026 12:47

But @ClutteredPalace - your post has reminded me that I really must stop ‘saving’ things that I think are ‘too good’ to use.

I have also just opened a downstairs cupboard to get out a duster and found a 50ml perfume. What on earth was it doing in there????

Has @JoRaRaRa been in your house? Perhaps she has now filled all of her own cupboards and is looking for new storage 🤣

At least one of them will be a Philip Kingsley product I bet!

I think the dropper bottle could be Monpure Hydrate & Soothe Scalp Serum 50ml from the Xmas edit.

Innersense and Percy & Reed are other hair products they often put in edits.

Thanks OvaHere. I could do without any more PK elasticer. Not a massive Percy & Reed fan either

MotherofTerriers · 10/04/2026 20:25

I’ll probably get the CB hair edit when it comes out, I could add in another 5 perfume samplings and get free postage….

Has anyone got any good leave in conditioner recommendations? I’ve got fairly fine hair and need something that detangles wet hair but won’t weigh my hair down. The Pureology Color Fanatic is perfect but it’s expensive and I seem to get through a bottle pretty fast so something a bit cheaper would be good.

I really like the Innersense spray. It’s a bit pricey but you only need a few sprays and it lasts for ages.

My hair is long and quite defiant but this makes it so soft and light. Smells lovely too.

There are some new sample perfumes at Cult today, includes Commodity Milk Orchid and Kayali Oudgasm musk.
The ANNIIECB code is working, I added a sheet mask so paid £6.60 in total

I have fine, tends-to-oily type hair and have been using Aussie Hair Insurance happily for years now. Cheap and easy to get hold of as well.

Beauty drop spoilers - already got 3 of them :-( www.libertylondon.com/uk/features/beauty/liberty-beauty-drop-subscription-box.html

Does not look great at all 😭

IlovePond · 11/04/2026 01:20

@Thelifeofawife - that made me laugh 😹

CorneliaStreet · 11/04/2026 07:08

Thanks @Sminty2 and @Talisin, I’ll give those a try.

It's crap. I've had everything bar one product in other edits and calendars.

I got home from a few nights away yesterday and my FTF box was waiting for me. Really impressed with it for £39.99 - the serum is a really good size. Tempted to order a second one.

I seem to order 2 of all sets these days 😅 I get worried about really liking something and then not being able to justify it again because of the individual cost (because I know I have a mountain of other products to use as well!) 🤣

user593 · 11/04/2026 09:42

@Thelifeofawife Thats what I do - I ordered two of the FTF bundles straight off the bat 😅 Hopefully I like them!

🤣🤣 Oh I wondered where I'd put it!

Saying that though, I bought some guerlain things from escentual on black Friday and I knew I'd bought the Christmas meteorites but I'd not been able to find them anywhere. Seems I'd put them in the snack cupboard, I'd also stashed the after dark edit in there too😳 luckily we've not kept snacks long enough to store them so the husband hasn't been in there, otherwise I'm sure they would've been munched 🤣

That’s exactly how I feel. I couldn’t justify spending over £300 on a serum so what happens if I fall in love with it?!
I do have a mountain of various serums to get through, but that won’t stop me! 😆

OvaHere · 11/04/2026 09:58

At the airport on way home. Went into duty free for work biscuits and also managed to buy a ysl loveshine lippie and liner plus 15ml of Hermes Barenia. The latter I was pleased with as I wanted it for a while but don't want a large bottle. Never seen the travel size elsewhere.

Not thrilled with April's BD, it's fine but not that exciting, that may be a me thing. I think come January I need to reassess whether I really want to do another year. I've passed on many of the recent edits and if I end up not getting the advent again that might be the deciding factor.

Thoughts on a £750 face cream? Although I’m pretty sure that is advertised as a £750 cream so they can sell it when it’s reduced like currently. the bee venom and placenta really puts me off that’s without looking at the price.

I am trying my new Lip Ink thing. It’s a good colour and had NO transfer at all so far.

26inprogress · 11/04/2026 12:08

With thanks to all of you, but especially @IlovePondI've done my first SK order this morning. Didn’t manage to get any of the boxes but I’ve saved some recommendations from
here and using Chat Gpt managed to order stuff that’ll be good for my skin. Got some of the black rice toner, snail mucin, beauty of Jossen SPF and rosemary shampoo and conditioner amongst other things. Free postage, one of the $2 SPFs and a massive haul for £140 ( hugely discounted). I’m off to SK in October so want to start using things so I can build a list for when I’m there! I’m also still being really careful with my skin post pd flare up and going to go through my stash and sell things I don’t think will be good for me including Elemis cleansing balm, it’s too perfumed and I think that’s what triggered my PD in the first place.
another one massively disappointed in the BD, there is 1 thing in there I’ve been wanting to try but the rest is meh. Hoping to get some make up in the event next week to use some of my credit and like others may consider stopping after advent released. I was disappointed in last years so hoping not as much perfume in this as I haven’t liked any of them!
Also @IlovePondare you using retinol? I’ve read that can really dry your lips out, could that be it?
