This is the thread where we are all bright orange from Vitamin C overload. Luckily we have a truck load of Bronze Primer to cover it up. 😂

Last thread was probably another speed run record. Let's hope there's no March Madness. We're in need of a break.😳

As always anyone welcome to join and contribute. Although you shouldn't if you know what's good for you. 😉

I am at m and s to collect my sparkly neck cream and some leggings. Some brown suede ankle boots may have fallen into my trolley 🤔

My M&S sparkly neck cream arrived today and I had such a dilemma: I want to put the pot out somewhere I can see it every day and enjoy the sparkliness but that will be very conspicuous to DH (who was unimpressed by the Evri man bringing my 3 packages yesterday). I've hidden it for now 🙈

Try “OMG I’ve had that for ages; have you only just noticed it?!” 🤣

Don’t you just hate it when that happens 😅

To get over my FOMO I’ve just opened a new Emma Lewisham serum.

I found the AB serum very drying.

THEY DIDN’T FIT!

I have consoled myself by spraying on four different perfume testers.

don’t feel too bad for me I bought a bag and necklace at Fat face earlier

I use Klarna for SK purchases - then pay Klarna off with my CC. It has always worked fine. Could you try that as an option? You should still have the same protection that you would have with PP.

Seconding Klarna. Its the best.

I really hate to say it, but I also have a rash on my jawline and think the medik8 vitamin c might be to blame 😬 I figured this out after buying the GWP and have been feeling really bad seeing so many people buy it so I really hope it's just me - I do have sensitive skin.

I put a photo of the rash/spots into chatGPT and it told me it's skin barrier damage due to either the vitamin c or retinol and to stop both for 2-3 weeks and see if it clears up. But I've only been using medik8 retinal 1, which is very mild, 3 times a week, so I feel the vitamin c is the more likely culprit. I was also using that 3 times a week (on retinol days).

I've cut out all actives for now and I'm using one of the barrier repair serums from the CB radiance edit, and the centella cream from the Boots mask freebie. If it clears up in a few weeks I'm going to try reintroducing retinol and see whether it was that or the vitamin c that was the problem. I will report back!

Ah I really hope it's not the vitamin c, it smells so nice 😭 I'm holding out hope that mine is the moisturiser as it's on my neck kinda under my ears where I don't take my vitamin c (to my knowledge but now I'm doubting my unconscious movements!) but have definitely taken nighttime moisturiser recently. Time will tell, I did swap day moisturiser today to the drunk elephant proteini one as I've been feeling quite dry with my current - that was really nice

I've always had sensitive skin, I was on roaccutane as a teenager and it's never been the same since, but I had two courses of heavy antibiotics last summer and that seems to have triggered my system to react to the slightest thing 🤦🏻‍♀️

user593 · 03/03/2026 21:20

Ok another device question 😅 Anyone tried the Current Body LED Mask? I see they have Klarna and 60 money back guarantee (-10% restocking fee and return shipping) so wondering if it’s worth giving it a whirl. I’ve had LED therapy at a beauty salon a couple of times so I don’t think it’s likely to mess with my skin.

IlovePond · 03/03/2026 21:27

@user593 - I have never had a rash but I was feeling a ‘bit odd’ at one point after taking a little bit of a vitamin cocktail on a semi-regular basis so I knocked it on the head and felt better!

It had never occurred to me that too much of a certain vitamin or supplement or taking certain things together could actually do harm. That’s why my GP said: ‘lowest dose possible’ of OTC vitamins.

I tend to only take Vit D in the autumn/winter, so I’m just about to stop it. I take B12 all year round, but a low dose and miss the odd day to give myself a rest.

It was a little 7ml tube I had from a Liberty box. I’ll check if it’s the same one tomorrow (too lazy to get my storage out now!).

SheilaFentiman · 03/03/2026 22:37

Prai update , @IlovePond - no plastic wrap around the sparkly pot or seal on the cardboard, just this plastic seal under the screw on lid.

I think anything rrp over a tenner should have a protective seal.

Hi does anyone use rituals body products. I’m tempted by the seshen limted edition set but don’t know if it’s worth it. I would like some luxury shower products not for everyday use for a treat. I do shower everyday and I tend to buy stuff from the supermarket.

I think there ok. I prefer Molton Brown (often on offer). Clarins or the purple Sol De janeiro.

there are always codes for these brands ..

I have one of the shower foams from a gift set, I quite like it, the scent is delicate. I think it’s Sakura but will check.

It is the same one. I can’t pinpoint if it’s this or that the medik8 night restore isn’t rich enough for my dry skin.

Ive 2 day creams that also do nothing for my parched skin. Alpha H and Trinny energise me.

I’ve started a list of products I’ll avoid in future.

They're nice but not amazing. I like the Sakura range but think they're over priced for what they are tbh. If I get them I try to pick up on offer, in beauty boxes or from the outlet.

I wouldn't save the foaming shower gel for best if it means you don't use it often. I have one I didn't use often because I wasn't keen on the scent and it went watery and lost the ability to foam after being open a while (maybe 6 months plus).

This Next box at £25 has a travel size of the Sakura shower gel if you wanted to try before committing to a pricier set.

I love things that smell nice so I went into a Rituals store a while ago to pick something. I loved a couple of the ranges and hated some others, so I'd recommend doing a sniff test before buying if you can. I ended up buying a Hammam foaming shower gel from Vinted, I've just finished it. Love the texture, love the fragrance. Was surprised by how quickly I finished the bottle. I'm not desperate to repurchase, but it was nice for a treat. I'm going to look out for rituals in edits etc, but I actually wasn't so keen on the ranges that tend to show up. I saw the new set and considered it, but I'd have to go and smell it before I'd know if it was worth it!
