This is the thread where we are all bright orange from Vitamin C overload. Luckily we have a truck load of Bronze Primer to cover it up. 😂

Last thread was probably another speed run record. Let's hope there's no March Madness. We're in need of a break.😳

As always anyone welcome to join and contribute. Although you shouldn't if you know what's good for you. 😉

The Matiere Powder Vanilla box is freakishly light, tbf, because the bottle is tiny and the two components are in separate cardboard sections. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to tell if the bottle was in there or not unless I had had another one on hand to weigh against.

I’m not saying the buyer isn’t trying it on, but it’s certainly possible she’s telling the truth.

Mistakes do happen at the packing stage and, sadly, so do thefts.

I would think you would have a pretty good shot at getting Liberty CS to either replace it or give you an alternative product, (especially if other people have contacted them about the same issue).

I agree, Liberty CS are always very good and on this occasion they are sending a replacement.

HolaLolla · 04/03/2026 11:55

IlovePond · 04/03/2026 11:49

Cross post @HolaLolla - I am glad Liberty are replacing!

Was yours on Vinted cheaper than others? There are lots on there and on eBay - but very pricey.

I had it listed for £22 and sold for £18 so not much cheaper than most of them are listed for (on Vinted that is)

IlovePond · 04/03/2026 12:00

Thanks @HolaLolla - I have been keeping an eye on prices myself - the VP does seem to be holding its price after advent season!

@Lonely12 I like Rituals products but haven’t tried that particular range.

I second @BlueLimes suggestion of the Sol de janeiro purple shower gel, I am currently using this one and it’s lovely! Also a little goes a long way with it

I am also using the purple SDJ one now, it's lovely. Again I got a small size on Vinted to see if liked the smell

Sminty2 · 04/03/2026 13:02

JoRaRaRa · 04/03/2026 11:36

@HolaLolla i guess there is a chance that it could've been packaged without the fragrance inside, but I think you've been scammed. The only thing you can do is raise it with the retailer who sold you the AC? Was it the HN FAC?

@Sminty2 mine is now on the move too 😊 It's arrived to the senders sorting facility. I've got a feeling it's not going to arrive though. MA Holt hasn't even posted the one I bought from him yet 🙄 I know they get days to post, but with a pro seller, I expect prompt dispatch!

They have definitely slowed down their posting speed.

I wondered if they were printing labels as soon as they make a sale but can’t post until their stock is replenished?

My son in law works for a financial fraud team & he told me to be very vague if using nicknames on Vinted parcels. He said that the ‘good’ ones get targeted more often and it’s better not to use them at all.

It hadn’t occurred to me (don’t use nicknames) but he said low value nicknames are better, if you have to use them. Things like mousetraps etc.

I suppose "the mousetrap purveyor" or "Bob369" rather than "the diamond pixie"

HolaLolla · 04/03/2026 11:49

Yes, it was from Liberty AC.

This is the problem with Vinted, buyers almost always get their way, and I am very careful with who I sell to, like I someone has no reviews and its something expensive I usually cancel the order. For less expensive items I take videos etc, but this buyer had loads of great reviews and was selling some calendar items so I had no concerns.

no I am thinking it is actually easier to get away with scamming if you have loads of good reviews.
at the same time maybe the perfume was really missing 🙈
I might just migrate to Ebay

Can you cancel the order without getting negative feedback? X

26inprogress · 04/03/2026 14:17

@BlueLimesI found the AB serum
did nothing for me either, I’ve not liked any of the products of theirs I’ve tried including the rich cream which my skin reacted to. I’ve got the retinol eye from the Liberty AC which I’m
debating selling. On that note though, I have had some real issues with Vinted both as a buyer and seller and have had to get my cc involved this time.
I received a passive aggressive note from Vinted suggesting I withdraw my claim or they may ban me. I’m taking the decision out of their hands and moving to eBay! There are so many fakes and so many scams and when there is an issue they are really unhelpful. It’s just not worth it!

Doglover73 · 04/03/2026 14:12

Yes, if you say it’s agreed with the buyer.
I do usually message the buyer before cancelling.

Puravida23 · 04/03/2026 14:46

@HolaLolla i had exactly the same thing happen to me on eBay with a Byredo candle fully sealed in cellophane I bought is originally as a present but ended up giving something else so sold it fully sealed on eBay. The seller said there was a Dunelm cheap candle in the box . I had to refund and still have the Dunhelm candle somewhere in the house taunting me 😀
To date I still don’t know when the candle was switched before I bought it or by the seller and like you the seller had great reviews
As a result I am always wary of selling fully sealed items now in case it happens again

Ok another device question 😅 Anyone tried the Current Body LED Mask? I see they have Klarna and 60 money back guarantee (-10% restocking fee and return shipping) so wondering if it’s worth giving it a whirl. I’ve had LED therapy at a beauty salon a couple of times so I don’t think it’s likely to mess with my skin.

Yes and I love it. Just the first two weeks of use made a big difference to my skin brightness and evenness. I'm eight weeks in now (I use it five nights a week) and still really happy. I have the neck/chest mask too as my neck is much worse than my face.

What do you mean by nicknames?

On the Evri app you can nickname a parcel. I’ve attached a photo, it’s bottom right of the screen.

My sil said people write things like Harrods, or Perfume and it could attract interest.

IlovePond · 04/03/2026 15:40

I think for Evri I’d be nicknaming ‘Will I ever get delivered?’ Or ‘Fingers crossed, I don’t get lost!’

I don’t use Vinted to buy or sell as DSis lost hundreds of pounds of high value items due to scam buyers claiming the products were fake/faulty. Vinted sided with the buyers, (of course), and she didn’t even get the goods back. Well, she did get one beautiful Coach bag back, but it had been deliberately damaged by the buyer, (who had obviously changed her mind about it and wanted to force a refund).

At least with eBay you can speak to a real person when there are problems- no chance with Vinted!

SheilaFentiman · 04/03/2026 15:41

“Get your mitts off my Vinted bits!” maybe?

IlovePond · 04/03/2026 15:45

My CB perfume has arrived. I was a bit disappointed with it for £40, (which is ridiculous as I knew exactly what was in it 🙈) I think I was comparing it unfavourably with the spectacular CB fragrance GWP before Xmas.

However, I am very pleased with it for the price I paid: £19 with credit and code plus I paid with TCB money, so ‘free’ really!

Hold onto your hats, but I had an experimental sniff at the cap of the Discoteque perfume of doom and, dare I say it, thought it might smell quite nice! I shall sniff again later…

IlovePond · 04/03/2026 15:45

Ohh dear, and here was me thinking ebay would be better than Vinted. We need to create a new selling platform 😂 my buyer said I could have equally removed the perfume and sealed the box again, apparently thats what people do when placing fake perfume in the original boxes🤦🏻‍♀️

namechange0998776554799000 · 04/03/2026 16:30

Surely there are enough of us on here we can all only buy from each other by now 😆

Lonely12 · 04/03/2026 16:33

Hi looking at ordering the shower gel from clarins that was recommended, is there any other products you would recommend please, is the body fit cream any good? They have an offer on for free gifts

I haven't smelled that one yet, just Juice and Kayali PG as I was most excited to try these (haven't smelled either before) and I liked both... uh-oh!

RockaLock · 04/03/2026 17:08

Just coming back to the SNK birthday gift that we talked about on the previous thread: I emailed SNK to complain that my code wasn’t working - surely they can’t be out of stock of the March gift already!

Anyway, they apologised, said yes it’s out of stock everywhere, and gave me a £5 account credit to compensate.

(Obviously I will continue to try to use the code online/in-store over the next couple of weeks )

Beautyfox · 04/03/2026 17:09

Hi, I have been lurking for quite some time now so I thought it’s would be good to come out of the shadows and say hello. I love a good freebie even if my bank balance doesn’t. I made a pledge this year to only buy beauty products if there is a freebie, thinking this would limit my beauty purchases but with the help of this thread I’m not sure that is the case.

I love the body cream too. Or the oil? Think it might be called tonic. Candle very nice - even my teen DS comments when I burn it.
