Welcome to style mavens old and new to continue our chats.
Hopefully more bling if there's another banquet on the horizon?

Oh! They're still really cute! So sweet.
MT looking good. Love the obligatory large bow/flower.

Love Kate's hat from today and impressed that she managed to look effortless keeping it on in a gale! (If it was me - I'd have looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge by the time I got inside)

themessygarden · 26/03/2026 07:17

Catherine looks fabulous, love the coat, so sophisticated. The hat and her hair are perfect.

thinktoomuchtoooften · 26/03/2026 07:38

Love the hat and coat but not together. But I never like pattern with pattern.

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 26/03/2026 08:09

I think it looks wonderful. It shows mixing patterns can work when you have the right patterns - IMHO.

Yes, because the colours are muted and the patterns low key, it's ok. It's like mixing textures and gives a bit of interest.

I disagree.

Cassiope · 26/03/2026 08:32

That's a wonderful hat from Kate! I struggle with those very shallow, cylindrical crowns as a rule, but the shape works well with the chequered pattern and the textured edge softens the overall effect nicely.

Some of Kate's best looks involve check patterns. I'd love to see her try some gingham this summer. I like dark blue gingham and that would be well within her customary colour palette.

Thank you @AppleDumplingWithCustard

Does prince of Wales check always have to be in the black and white colour? I don't think I have ever seen it in other colours. It looks very smart and made the previous grey coat look wishy washy.

I used to have a blazer in Glen plaid (as it it usually called here in the US, short for its original Glen Urquhart name). It was the traditional gray/black/white, but it also had a subtle pink thread running though it, and I sometimes wore a pink blouse with it to make the pink a bit more obvious. My sister has one that has shades of muted green it it.

Which PoW is the pattern named for? I'm assuming the Duke of Windsor?

It was originally named for Edward VII when he was POW.

locketrocket · 26/03/2026 17:04

Catherine looks so good in the check, that it makes me actively dislike the cabin crew grey number.

Everything about it - hat ✔️dress ✔️shoes✔️

HollyhockDays · 26/03/2026 18:55

I loved the coat and hat maybe just not together.

Sidebeforeself · 26/03/2026 19:18

I hope PoW isn’t on a run of grey outfits though like she did with brown earlier in the year. It may not be significantly warmer , but we can afford a bit of colour now it’s Spring!

A colleague (male) has a lovely suit in a petrol blue and dark grey variant.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 26/03/2026 22:34

Now that was an Erdem I actually did like and the aubergine shoes were fab too.

eggandonion · 26/03/2026 23:01

Yes it is pow check! She looked great in that outfit...so long ago. I like the checks going in different directions.

Both Charlene and Gabriella wearing the traditional white privilege. Interesting that Charlene is also wearing a veil.

Traditionally women wear veils to meet the Pope, but I think she didn't last time.

I'm bumping this thread as it's dropping of my list! Apologies 😁

eggandonion · 30/03/2026 14:08

Maundy money this week. Where do the royals go for Easter?
