What can’t you wear?

What can’t you wear but would love to wear? Me slip dresses and camisoles though I do have one black one I wear, River Island.

Shirt dresses - my proportions are just wrong for them!

Crop tops. I lost lots of weight and have great abs now but I am covered in loose skin which looks just terrible.

Sleeveless tops
Pastel colours
‘boxy’ anything
Polo necks - my chin is slightly weak and makes me look ridiculous

Anything with a high neckline and anything tucked in 😭
I know that tucking in a top supposedly works better for my shape but I can’t deal with the thought of people seeing my belly sticking out 😩

Jeans.
I can't seem to get away with them in the latest styles.

Shift dresses. I would love to wear them for work but unless I get one specially made, any that fit on my hips are too baggy in the top.

Wrap dresses, look like I’m 6 months pregnant.

Boho and fussy/frilly or floaty. I'm 5'1 and tiny so they do nothing for me.

Shirt dresses for me as well. If the top half fits, the bottom half won't and vice versa.

Anything that shows my upper arms - I've had horrible skin there my whole life. I even wear long sleeved swimming costumes. I know nobody else really gives a shit but I just feel so self conscious.

Anything mini and shorts thanks to huge thighs - not such an issue now I’m in my 50s but I longed to be able to wear a mini skirt when I was younger.

Oh yes me too. I have never had slim thighs and always wished I could pull off a mini skirt as a younger woman.

Any dress. I am short, heavy of nork and an apple. I look like Les Dawson in drag.
Trench coat. I have Columbo vibes.

Dresses with a belt, I've got a very high waist.
Cropped trousers - cankles.
Yellow, white, cream or lilac make me look ill.

Cropped trousers and wide-legged trousers. I have a long torso, so my legs are short in proportion to my height. Those styles of trousers make my legs look even shorter. And because I am already quite broad (a tall size 18) I end up looking like an enormous Lego minifigure.

My long torso also means no standard swimsuits, bodies or jumpsuits. Bisection by camel-toe, ouch!

Anything with sleeves shorter than elbow length, my arms are disproportionately larger than the rest of me and I have elbow overhang. Even in the height of summer in a heatwave I'll be wearing sleeves.

Makes my wardrobe a lot more limited, i''d love to get surgery.
