What can’t you wear?

What can’t you wear but would love to wear? Me slip dresses and camisoles though I do have one black one I wear, River Island.

Not an item, as such, but a style - I can't layer. I end up looking like Joey from that episode of friends.

The older I get, the less I like the clothes that I must wear.

Love:

• high heels, preferably red
• stockings with aforementioned high heels
• slinky, figure hugging dresses
• cute little camisole tops
• jeans with short top, showing just a little bit of tummy

Have to wear:

• flat shoes
• long tops to hide fat belly
• long sleeved summer dresses with undefined waists
• joggers because they don't dig into my generous waist and hip area

I pack a J cup so anything with buttons tends to gape and anything frilly makes me look matronly

Black makes me look dreadful, bizarrely Charcoal grey is a great colour on me. I mean it's literally a couple of shades different isn't it?

I used not to be able to wear collars but now my hair is curly (thanks menopause) I seem to be able to

I am never comfortable in jeans. I have no idea why they are so popular.

Heels. Pretty sure they should be an exclusion on my life insurance

Interesting! I’m 5’11 and slim but with broad shoulders, and those styles are terrible on me too! I always feel a bit like I’m in drag. Prefer tailoring and kind of minimal/oversized vibes (eg. Cos) to make me look less lanky and bony.

Dress or skirt that’s midway down lower legs. Just look hideous on me. It’s either a mini skirt or floor length. There is nothing in between

Trousers… I have a slim waist but carry my weight on my thighs, so they either fit at the waist but pull on the tops of my legs or they fit in the legs and gape at the waist. Strangely I do ok with jeans so live in them or skirts / dresses. I don’t own any trousers (that aren’t jeans) at all!

Anything ultra trendy. No romantic, frilly clothes. No pale colours.

No to flat shoes like pumps or loafers. I need a heel of about 4 cms.

Anything with a waist, as I don’t have one. Anything round my middle either rides up or rolls down.

Anything tight over my c section belly. Legs ok, top half ok. Middle no go area! So I like things that nip in at waist and flare out. Or a long top.
id like to wear jeans and a lacy cami and heels but I’d look gross.

Anything that shows bare legs - lipoedema, 5ft 3 and I’m built like shot putter to boot 😅

High necks
Tomato red, ochre/mustard, cream
Ballet flats or anything with heels

I'm super short waisted, but with trousers and jeans I've learned to work around it with being careful about the rises and leg length.

Put me in a pleated or flared skirt- instant egg in an egg cup with a face drawn on 😐

Anything you can’t wear a proper, shoulder strap bra with - nothing strapless, nothing backless, no spaghetti straps, no halter necks. I’m a 34GG/H.

Any type of trouser or jean. I’m short and all stomach (3 sections and just fat) and bum.

its actually annoying as so hard to dress in a casual way.

High neck lines - I have big boobs.

Three quarter length sleeves. I have long arms so they sit in the wrong spot and make me look like a lumbering knuckle dragger. Cap sleeves don't suit me either, not sure why. The sleeve length makes or breaks a top for me.

Anything sleeveless is not for me, very top heavy (broad shoulders, big bust, not particularly toned arms).

Anything requiring a non standard bra, too much like hard work.

High waists make me bloat and even when I'm not bloated seem to make my stomach look bigger.

Tights also make me bloat up.

Polyester, I'm not a particularly sweaty person but immediately makes me smell.

Jumpsuits. I'm too long in the torso, I feel like I'm being cut in half. Plus I can't be arsed disrobing every time I need the loo.

The majority of knee high boots. My BMI is 21 and my calves are still far too chunky to squeeze into them.

High necks - big boobs

slimline dresses -fat all over
anything with buttons down the front-big boobs
pale colours -make me look ill

thats why I tend to stick to v neck jumpers, jeans and trainers

Any kind of ballet flat or court shoe. If it doesn't fasten to my foot, I leave it behind.

Anything where the heel is strappy or open. I have custom orthotic inserts on both sides for overpronation and they need an enclosed heel to keep them in place.

Any high heel, because said orthotic inserts slide down the slope.

I wear Hotter and Rieker a lot 😭

Same, and there's so many tops and dresses that just don't work.

If it doesn't have at least a bust dart, I don't have a prayer of wearing it.

Anything body con due to all the wibbly bits.
Also anything showing my bare legs as I have horrendous varicose veins (i would love to wear shorts in summer but I'd scare small children!).

Black. I either look ill or like a nonna thats never left her village.

Anything high necked, I look like a walking pair of tits
anything you can’t get a normal bra under (strapless doesn’t exist in my size)
shirts/blouses
orange, yellow or pink

High waisted jeans. Or any jeans that are made of stiff non-stretchy fabric. They are so uncomfortable, I don’t know how anyone can wear them.
