New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

Tempted by the debenhams set but I had a really bad experience with Debenhams last time they sent me used perfume took a million years to resolve and the lost the return. I did eventually get my money back around 2 months later but swore off them. I think for £30 it may be worth the gamble, I will also use Klarna for buyer protection.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 07/02/2026 11:27

I missed thread 8 totally! Work has been overwhelming. Thanks very much for this new one. Have you previously discussed the recent Lisa Potter-Dixon CB edits?

I managed a pretty low-buy January, now feeling the pull towards new things, but trying to stay firm and reasonable. I have such a lot to use up. I might do a bit of clearing and organising today and then reassess.

I know a few people have issues with Debenhams CS and returns but if you're willing to risk it they have a Valentines edit for £30

Code BEAUTY5 takes it down to £28.50 but using PayPal it doesn't stack with FREEDEL - even though it looks like it does until you get to the payment screen. So it's cheaper to use the FREEDEL code than save £1.50 with the BEAUTY5 code.

I don't know if the codes stack using a different payment menthod but given their somewhat ropey CS reputation using PayPal at least may offer some protection.

Main draw is that it includes 7.5ml of the new YSL Libre Berry Crush which some of you may be keen to try.

Full contents

  • Yves Saint Laurent Libre Berry Crush Eau de Parfum 7.5ml
  • Valentino Born in Roma Donna Eau de Parfum 10ml
  • Armani Power of You Eau de Parfum 5ml
  • Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara 2ml
  • Benefit Benetint 6ml
  • Nails Inc Covent Garden Place 14ml
  • Glow For It Lash & Brow Growth Serum Edit x2 2ml
  • Land of Lashes Half Lash (1x Pair)

I bought it and the sneaky buggers added £1.50 for 'worry free delivery' at the end after I'd gone through the Klarna payment screen. It's really annoyed me as they say free delivery and then add in this stupid £1.50 worry free delivery bollox. Just charge the £1.50 for delivery! It should be worry free anyway if they are using a reputable courier.

I hope I won't live to regret ordering from them again. I have Klarna protection at least, and I'm thinking there's very little chance of them sending used products (last time they clearly sold me something someone had opened and returned)

IlovePond · 07/02/2026 11:30

I’m still on the fence about the Boots x Stackers.

Meanwhile, I am continuing to use up my small tubes/containers first to reduce the amount of stuff I have on the go.

This happened to me, but I managed to remove it just in time and stick to the free next day delivery. Sneaky though!

Than you
Ill go and check. I may have missed it x

I had this in my basket last night - then saw sense and deleted! Also had various Payrick Ta goodies in baskets and also resisted. I failed to resist the Trinny neck cream though - purchased with the micro needle roller for 20% off (despite having purchased a £5 needle roller from Primark last week!)

I'll use the Primark one on my body. I've decided to treat the skin on my body as I would my face, so more body-toning and serum products, and now micro needling 😊

i had a look after your post. The 3 for 2 and 20% off works with the stackers offer.

Just to add - the 3 for 2, plus stacker order (which I resisted) came to £82

Same happened to me. The annoying thing is that they're trying to put the responsibility onto us when it's their responsibility anyway for them to get our orders to us 😡 I only realised because my husband was ordering a coat from somewhere else and it was added on there. It made me go back to look as it felt like it rang a bell.

I really need to keep an eye on what I'm buying. I rush through things and then forget to do top cashback, add codes etc, it all adds up. I completely forgot to add on the FREEDEL code, so not only did I pay for delivery but I also don't get NDD 🤦🏻‍♀️ I need to stop getting so excited 🤣

Thelifeofawife · 07/02/2026 11:52

@IDontHateRainbows I noticed just as I was about to pay, it took me a good look through to see why the cost had gone up - mine was over £3 more! I removed it, but obviously now worried that something is going to go wrong, because surely every delivery should be worry free 🙈

JoRaRaRa · 07/02/2026 12:03

My VB palette has finally arrived 😍💜

Looks lovely. Mine is coming today I think. I hope I like it - are you trying yours out today?

I'm still having slight buyers remorse but I did only get the refill and with a discount. I saw someone compare it to ND Mini Love palette and they are quite similar - I already have that one.

Also, their customer service is still manned by bots and it takes weeks for anything to be reviewed by a real life human, so I don't know how the 'worry free delivery' changes that.

I suggest to buy on Klarna, they can track if it doesn't arrive and open an investigation if shoddy goods are received. Where it went wrong last time, was when I returned it the tracking didn't track and I hadn't kept the paper receipt from the post office as everyone uses tracking these days. So I won't make that mistake again. I did eventually get my money back, not sure if Klarna put pressure on them, as they were saying they had no evidence of the return. Maybe they found it weeks later in their presumably chaotic warehouse.

Thelifeofawife · 07/02/2026 12:58

@IDontHateRainbows I’ve never used Klarna before as I have only seen it advertised as paying in 3 instalments. Is there an option to pay off straight away?
It sounds like a good option to have that extra purchase protection

Yes, you can pay at any time. I frequently pay on 'pay in 30days' and then.pay it off a few days later when money hits my account, but you could pay it straight away too I think.

My mini review of the new CT blur concealer is keep your money and find a different one.
I am mid 50’s with normal skin, it was very cakey by lunchtime, the coverage was good but didn’t like the cakeymess and looked patchy by the end of the day.
I use an eye serum and cream daily so my eyes are not dry.

Thank you. Good to know as I was eyeing that one.

I bought the new Milk stick concealer with my SNK vouchers. First time wear today so this is not a review but first impressions I'm liking it.

It's quite luminous with good coverage. I set lightly with powder and it hasn't made my under eye lined. Also used it in a couple of other problem areas around the nose and chin. Again first impressions but I don't feel it is as good in those places as my Hourglass concealer but under eye I'm liking so far.

Yes, I've tried it out 🥰 it's really nice. I hope they do the creamy satin as a standalone, that is gorgeous! I think I'd just take the palette everywhere for that shade alone. I used all the shades in the palette and created a more evening look, but I'm looking forward to creating a day time look tomorrow 💜

Just had an email to say my SK Brand Festa order is delayed. The tone of the email suggested possible cancellation- we shall see 🙀

Anyone else had similar from SK?

Thanks

I went into Fenwick today and they had a selection of beauty products in a glass case with a Fenwick make up bag so wondering if it is a new gwp. Couldn’t find any details online

Doglover73 · 07/02/2026 17:30

I had the ysl Restless Rose blush. Its lovely but was pink so not for me.
I bought after a appointment with beauty concierge in selfridges and it looked nice in there and I got carried away. The rose in the name should have given away it was pink! 🙄
I dont wear pink blush but thought wth ill go with it. Lesson learnt x

TKMaxx has several Perricone MD items available. The Cold Plasma plus is only £19.99. Feeling quietly virtuous having saved £260 this afternoon.
