Are these timeless?

Firstly, I love love love this so please don't shit on them if they're not your style. Would you say the patent leather are more timeless than the textured fabric? Also, are the lower heels less nice?

@NutellaEllaElla I love them. And I'm one of those people who hate obvious branding.
However Dior, Chanel etc aren't tacky & don't scream "OI LOOK AT ME!!!"

Plus I think folk who love fashion will likely look at the actual shoe shape & heel design & fabric more than the Dior logo.
Plus if you wear trousers you're not:hardly going to see the white ribbon & logo depending on trouser length.

The cream ties make me think of gift wrap.

You said...Erm - Op has actually asked for what people think.

Erm....you obviously haven't read or understood her update.

I’m not responding to the Op.
Op asked a question that people have and still have posted answers to.

SharpFox · 28/01/2026 20:45

The patent ones are the best by far! X

certainlycertain · 28/01/2026 21:20

I'm usually a big patent fan, but I prefer the first as I think the fabric goes more seamlessly with the ribbon. I've also seen them in person and they're really lovely. Definitely the higher heel.

Having very obvious branding like that is neither timeless, classic or elegant. It just shouts " look how much money I can spend on shoes and I'm not used to having money, I'm an insecure person so I've got to boast about it".
A similar style just all in black is much more timeless.

Exactly that!

Namechangerage · 29/01/2026 07:36

OP I’m not sure whether you mean anyone who didn’t agree they are timeless? I don’t feel I was rude etc, just gave my opinion. For me I think the ribbon would get dirty very quickly and the obvious logo isn’t timeless. The question was “are these timeless”.

Anyway glad it gave you clarity on getting them anyway.

Jamfirstest · 29/01/2026 08:49

I think they are really cute but the branded part makes them look like merch. I like the Matt ones best though.

BauhausOfEliott · 29/01/2026 12:42

I think the style of the straps stops any of them from being truly timeless. I don't dislike them and they'd look amazing with a slim-fitting black trouser, cigarette pants style, but I'm not sure I'd pick them if my main goal was timelessness.

Of the three, the patent ones are definitely closer to being timeless than the fabric ones, and I think will also be more durable. They won't mark or get stained easily like the fabric styles. Second choice would be the fabric ones with the higher heel. I think the kitten heel ones will date more quickly.

Bit late to the party here but here's my two penneth-

Lovely shoes, however Sling Back style is very current, it comes in and out and the branded ribbons will age them more than anything else.

Same with the Kitten Heel, its a current trend.

Simply black heels are timeless, but as soon as you do anything to them they become a pair which can show age, examples such as a conical heel, Super pointy toe, High or low toe box. Cut outs.

My recent purchase was the fannylove louboutins, bit of a chunkier heel than most. and they fit like a glove ❤

SunCreamQueenie · 29/01/2026 16:34

Fabulous yes, timeless no.

CountryMouse22 · 29/01/2026 17:42

Now THOSE are 100% timeless!

Figgysmum · 29/01/2026 18:02

Ive been round long enough to know pointed shoes go out of fashion and the rounded toe arrives making the pointed shoe very look dated

crowsfleet · 29/01/2026 20:26

not timeless at all. the words on the strap aren’t classic elegant timeless

Time will tell, but I LOVE them

AlwaysRoomForGin · 31/01/2026 20:55

Saw them in the New Bond St store on Tuesday OP and all 3 pairs are gorgeous. I hope whichever style you opt for ultimately bring you enormous pleasure
I'm lusting after these: navy sling back www.dior.com/en_gb/fashion/products/KCV508OCC_S32N?indexName=dev_product_en_gb&objectID=KCV508OCC_S32N&query=navy%20ladies%20shoes&queryID=2723710ac904f1a50c0a3d4621aa8e8a ...they have them as flats or open toe mule as well. DH said he thinks they will get grubby quickly....I don't know if he thinks I will be doing the gardening in them or something! No I would cherish them as a thing of beauty and only wear as a special treat!
Enjoy your purchase
